All ski trails on Navarino were re-surfaced and tracked today with the exception of the north section of the yellow loop due to logging. Trails were worked up to create a new surface, new tracks and to get many of the traffic from last weekend cleaned up. There is a nice base that allowed us to break the ice top and create a new surface.

Skier reported to staff today that some equipment had driven on the ski trails. Staff took the groomer out and re-groomed affected sections of trail. Logging is to the north of the ski trails. Grooming plans are likely a full grooming on Thursday.

Due to rain and recent melting all trails are icy with a little bit of snow cover. Wetland areas that has high water are still not frozen solid.

Due to warm conditions around Christmas, the trails have melted and re-froze. Bare spots are visible. There are walkers and snowshoers using the trails, some skiers with old rock skis.

Conditions are fair. It appeared all trails were groomed, but no tracks were set. The base is thin in a few areas with ice/ground slightly exposed, but not complaining since it was fun early season skiing!

All Navarino cross-country ski trails are open. There are spots of ice, due to the earlier high water. Also sticks and oak leaves. Skiers that have talked to staff have reported good conditions for getting an early start on the season.

Grooming plans are to pack all trails on Friday, tracks will be set if conditions are favorable.
