Brainerd Nordic Ski Team did a classic and skate loops in the morning. According to S. H., " The trails are good!". No bare patches and just a few spots to lift your skis in the classic tracks. Probably the best conditions in the area. Nicely set classic tracks (be prepared to step out in spots to avoid leaves or a few patches of ground). Skate lane is good. A cautious, observant skier can use good skis. The skiers are very glad this system is open this year! 30+ skiers using the system this morning!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Reset track on all interior classic trail segments. Regroomed the middle cut-across trail for skating and set new track. Did not touch the outer loop track since it was in decent shape from last Saturday nights grooming nor did I do much on the outer loop skate lane. I kicked some snow on thin spots here and there on the outer loop track.

Outer loop still in very good shape after last Saturday nights re-grooming. Skate deck looked good and firm. Some debris in tracks (less than 5% of track). Just a few spots in track with the ground showing. My plans are to re-track the interior segments and touch up some of the skate lanes on Friday.

Larson was fabulous this morning. I was the only car in the lot when I arrived and didn't see anyone for the first 10 miles. Skated all the trails open to skating and and classiced several miles too, the interior trails were more fun for classic as there was debris in the track for much of the outer loop.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Groomed all skating lanes at 5pm after record number is skiers Friday-Saturday. Lowered the rakers/cutting knives to shave off the humps a bit. Reset track on outer loop only. Did not reset track on the inner trail segments. If you see walkers out there, politely tell them walking is not as allowed on groomed trails.

Needs grooming, good snow pack. No ice but the skate deck is concave and convex, powder on the edges, slicker at the midline.

Skied all of the skate trails. Good base, deck was getting soft and hills a bit chewed up. Looks like the classic tracks were in good condition for most the trail, some of the narrower sections were not as good.

5 inches of new snow. Rolled all trails with 6 foot roller, then used ginzu to set track. Skate lanes are wide and track is set.

The outer loop was rolled and tracked, and the coverage was pretty good. Skiing was less than perfect (more snow would be helpful), but definitely worthwhile. Thanks to the groomer for making the most of the snow we've got.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, Rock skis ]
4-5 inches of wind blown snow fell yesterday. All skating lanes groomed and track set on outer loop only. Some thin spots with debris showing, so rock or B skis till more snow.
