Not groomed and no tracks set. Green loop closed for EAB removal. Classic skied the orange loop this afternoon. Skier set tracks in some spots and nothing in other areas. Ok if you want to get a little extra workout blazing your own trail.

Fantastic! Wonderful tracks. Firm and deep, not icy. Must have been recently groomed. The skating lane looked good also, with only a couple ski marks. Part of the north section trails are closed due to tree removal project.

Skate deck was somewhat soft. Some skiers had sunk in and left deep ski tracks. Classic was good and fast. Tracks were clear.

Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
The big news at Chomonix is that the northern loops are closed for emerald ash borer mitigation; this is clearly marked and the trail has been altered for tree removal. The trails on the golf course are unaffected. This takes about 2 miles out of commission. There is plenty of snow but the deer have been waking all through the skate deck. Hopefully with some fresh snow and some grooming this will return to the glorious conditions of several weeks ago.

Tracks are in great shape overall. On east side of multi-use the tracks fade around the area of the fallen tree. It is passable around the tree and meets up with good track conditions again. South loop is in great shape. Photo included of area around fallen tree.

[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Very good conditions for classic and skate, and a beautiful day to be out. The trails are groomed and in good shape. The downed tree in the woods is more cleared than it was last weekend, and there is only about 1/4 mile that is not tracked around it.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic Secondhand
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Classic skied the green and orange loops this afternoon and tracks were set and trails groomed. There was a downed tree along the south side of the green loop in the woods where grooming/tracks aren't set but only for a few feet.
Note: Read on Anoka parks website the wooded trails will be closing starting Jan 9th to remove Emerald Ash Borer trees but doesn't state when they'll be back open.

Plenty of snow, but felt like they are mid-groom. Wide set corduroy grooming that your skis can fit in, but uneven with machine tracks in the middle of the deck. No tracks set yet. Was slow going, but a beautiful night to be out.

They were out rolling the snow to pack it down. No tracks and the snow is soft allowing very mild drop into the snow. The trails are otherwise beautiful with all the snow covered trails.

Skied late until about dusk. I was really surprised how good conditions were. West of the club house the tracks were clear and in good condition. In the woods there was a fair amount of leaves, needles, a couple coyote feces. Sit back on the heels and it was fine. Super fast, double pole derby.
