I skated about 10k this morning; some of the best skiing of the season! Classic tracks are mostly gone but the skate lanes is very good. Grooming note: we are probably done grooming trails for the season.

Firsthand: Freestyle Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
I groomed the trails early morning, just the skate lanes, then skied most of the 16k. For spring skiing I switched over to the dark side and skate skiing. Excellent conditions; plenty of snow base, great glide easy control. Just have to ski in the morning, before it gets too warm.

Grooming Scheduling
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The ski trails are still snow-covered but not groomable. I will not be grooming them for this weekend and don't know yet about next week. It may be done; now we wait for good crust skiing conditions!

All trails were groomed this morning. 3" of the kind of snow a groomer loves! Excellent conditions but now it's getting soft. It's beautiful out there!

First time skiing here. We were delighted at how well the trails we're groomed. Whoever is doing this is a master! Snow was sufficiently packed to get good push off skate skis without sinking or having piles go deep. Flow of trails was excellent so we could confidently go down the zoomers without much risk of crashing. Thanks to Norm, director of Hinder Binder, who gave us great trail tips. More people should come and experience this gem of a trail system!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All 16km were groomed again this afternoon. Skate and classic skiing conditions are excellent. Soft pole plants are only an occasional issue. I am planning on grooming these trails through March but warmer weather may change everything.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
I groomed all of the skate lanes and over half of the tracks (other tracks were fine) today. The trails were used heavily on Saturday and were quite beat up, but are in excellent condition (best of season) now. This would be a great week or weekend to ski Rollercoaster or the big hills on jammer and Skidder!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
We got another 4-5" snow, very soft and hard to groom. So I did a 3-pass groom (instead of just 2) this morning. Trails look beautiful but very soft until it gets colder tonight. I didn't get tracks set on Skidder and Jammer due to snowmobile problem.

After a lot of grooming lately, I finally got out on the Forest Springs 16k of trails today. The scenery is spectacular and the trails are in excellent shape! Kind of soft and slow, especially for skating, but pretty good for striding. Very clean (no sticks or leaves in tracks) and no problems with soft pole plants. I probably will groom again after we a get another couple inches of snow.

Grooming

We got another 5" snow overnight so I just rolled the 16k of trails this morning. With the LMC groom yesterday, it is skiable now. Grooming plans: I plan to groom and set tracks tonight.
