Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Grooming plans: I will be grooming trails on Friday (was unable to do so recently due to snowmobile repair needed). All trails should be open (16km), including the connector to the Rib Lake club trails.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Good news, bad news on the trail grooming! As I groomed trails this afternoon (with about 3" new snow), it was going great until the snowmobile overheated and I had to quit. So Gaiter and Corker trails are done (with tracks), about 3.5 km total and look great. Then one of the maintenance staff guys, after towing me (and the Sherpa) in with the LMC (ski hill groomer, like a PistenBully) headed out on the rest of the trails; will do some today and the rest tomorrow. It leaves a beautiful skate lane, 11' wide, but doesn't set tracks for classic skiing. Hopefully, I will set the rest of the tracks before the weekend, assuming we get the snowmobile okay to use again.

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Classic skied nearly everything that was open, all in fine shape. Another 2 or 3 inches of snow and Scott will have this place perfect. I forgot how brutal the hills were on the south side of the road.

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
I strided all 16k this afternoon. Tracks were good but very slow since the snow is so cold and dry. I am thinking that Sunday afternoon should be a good time to ski.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
We received a surprise 2+" snow this morning. I groomed trails in the afternoon; huge improvement from yesterday. Tracks and skate lanes in very to excellent conditions! Now we just need some skiers who can handle cold temps.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
I groomed trails again, after the 1" new snow. It wasn't much snow but it helped. New classic trails are quite variable, from excellent to very shallow; overall pretty good. Overall conditions: very good.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
After much snow shoveling to cover some thin stretches, the 12k/24k race trails are very good condition. I will be grooming skate lanes again today. Come ski the Hinderbinder Saturday!

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Amazing what a little snow shoveling in a few rough spots and grooming has done! Classic skied with B skis, but came to the conclusion all the stuff I saw on the trail was plant material (grass and tree stuff), gliding over it all with no problem. So next time I will use the best skis without worry. Looking forward to Hinder Binder on Saturday.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Trail conditions are surprisingly good for the limited snow we have received. We will be working on shoveling snow on the thin spots this week. We expect to have good conditions for the Hinderbinder race on Saturday!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
3" of new snow groomed better than I expected. I set tracks, finally, on most of the 16 km of trails. Skidder and Rollercoaster trails have some thin spots (under the hemlocks) to watch out for. The marsh crossing on Gaiter is wet but should be OK by tomorrow. Looking better for the Hinderbinder.
