Notes

Brunet Island's trails pass through an otherwise undeveloped section of the park. The terrain is rolling with plenty of hills but none very large. Skiers pass through a mix of hardwood and evergreen forest, and ski a ridge within sight of the Fisher River.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Saturday’s fresh snow settled down to about 4 inches and worked up perfectly. All trails were groomed today and new tracks were set, Should be excellent tomorrow morning. Deep snow has smoothed the trail out nicely and allowed for a nice full depth track.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All trails were groomed and new tracks set Friday. The Nordic Trail is very good to excellent with the only issue being some leaves and other debris. The candlelight loop was harder to refresh-so there are some sections of shallow track, but Is very good overall. Should be good conditions for the weekend.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Both the Nordic Trail and Candlelight loop were groomed today and should be excellent after setting up overnight. We received 6-8 inches of new snow and it worked up nicely. Tracks are deep and clean. The shortest loop on the Nordic (less than 0.5 km) was run with the snowmobile but not tracked due to a low stretch filled with slush. It's on a flat and should freeze up overnight and be fine to ski tomorrow, just no tracks. One other note-stay alert for 'face slappers'. The wet snow early brought a lot of small branches down hanging low over the trail. I think we got 'em all, but just in case we missed one ...

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All trails were groomed and tracks set Thursday. The Nordic Trail is in very good to excellent condition. There is some variation in track quality due to deer activity, oak leaves, and hard packed snow which made it difficult to get full depth, but you can bring good skis. The Candlelight loop, which is on more gentle terrain as it passes through the picnic areas, North Campground, and Timber Trail, came out better and is generally excellent. The Candlelight loop is also open to skijorlling and walking.

Bear with us: we just took delivery of a new snowmobile Wednesday (thank you friend's group!) and need to break it in a bit before pulling a groomer. We ran all the trails today and packed them, and they are in fair condition. The snow cover is good and they are soft enough for good control, but no tracks have been set. We should be back up to full speed in just a few days!

Not groomed as of Sunday but the snow was deep and heavy and I was able to make my own tracks on the small two-way loop.
