Trail Reports

2019-2020 season
Reports 14 to 23 of 38    Month: Mar | Feb | Jan | Dec
Monday, January 27, 2020
Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Trails were groomed the night before and were icy but skiable with some loss of control. Unfortunately some folks walked on the trail before it set up and there were deep tracks in the skating lane. This problem is recurrent. Very little debris present. With a little snow dressing this should be good skiing as long as temps stay below freezing.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All trails were groomed and tracked today and are in excellent condition. The trails are level and are free of ruts and most bumps. New snowfall has covered up much of the debris that has previously been present on the trails.

The base set up nicely after grooming and with fresh powder the deck was fast and fun. Conditions very good to excellent. Diagonal lanes were in good condition by appearance. Worth the drive to ski here.

Skating lanes firming up since the heavy snow we had recently and thanks for grooming yesterday. Conditions faster today and not as much work. Hope for a little snow to keep the oak leaves buried and skiing great!

First time classic skiing here. Varied terrain. Plenty of snow. Trails had not been groomed recently. Lots of wildlife and one human tracks. Grooves from warm temps frozen in on skate deck. A few oak leaves in tracks. All in all, a very nice time. Be sure to donate for grooming costs!

There were 1-2 inches of fresh powder over a solid base in the skating lanes. There was excellent control and very good glide. This was the best ski I have had this winter. The only problem was minor debris at the start of the trail. The diagonal tracks were unused so possibly slow.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All trails were groomed and tracked today after a couple of inches of new snow. The new snow allowed further filling of ruts and in most cases eliminating them completely. There are still oak leaves and pine needles on the trails in certain locations. Overall the trails are in very good condition.

What a beautiful ski! The crusty snow had a thin layer of fresh snow. Downhills are icy but striding was great. A great opportunity to ski without a long drive north. All ground thoroughly covered with snow. Oak leaves and pine needles only at the trail beginning.
