Trail Reports

2017-2018 season
Reports 11 to 20 of 56    Month: Mar | Feb | Jan | Dec
Wednesday, February 28, 2018
Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
The trails looked like they hadn't been groomed in a few days at least and were very icy with a lot of ruts on the deck going up the hills. The tracks were decent, but a few bare spots in one of the tracks that could be easily passed by lifting the ski. Very icy.

Observation
[ Trails Open: All ]
I stopped by thinking I'd ski at about 9:30 a.m. But a young man just finishing the course said it was fast and icy. He didn't think it was scary, but he also looked like a lot better skier than I so I decided to go to Theo Wirth instead.

Evening
Firsthand: Both
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Dang near perfect considering how warm it is. I was skiing the freestyle trail and doing downhills in the classic tracks. I saw one spot with 1" of grasstips on the entire 2 loops. The deck is a little soft in a few spots but mostly firm at the end of the day. Continued excellent work Mitch and colleagues.

Night
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Everything was groomed late Sunday night and a classic track set. It should be pretty good skiing today. Come out and get it before the temps soften everything up!

Afternoon
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Everything has been groomed with a few passes today. Going to take some time and work to get it all set up, but there is a course out there. Hoping to let it set up and do some
Leveling, finishing and get a classic track in either late tonight or early tomorrow.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic Lost/Found
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
They were out grooming corduroy tracks (no classic tracks being set) just as we left at around 1pm today. I lost a women's L Swix ski glove if anyone finds it!

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Skated between noon and 1pm. Trail is very soft with lots of new snow. Groomer was out packing things down and was still working when I left, they had made one pass wide over the skate deck. Even with what appeared to be 2+ groomer passes it was still very soft. It was clearly taking a number of passes to compact it. No classic tracks were set, I'm guessing they'll get to that once they've widened and packed things more. Good to see more snow to help stretch the season. Thanks to the groomers as always!

Morning
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Trails groomed and classic track are set for your Friday and Saturday enjoyment before the next snow system moves throb. Coverage is really good, but there are some soft areas with all the new snow. The deck should firm up overnight.

All trails groomed and classic track set. The coverage is really good, but with all the new snow, there are some softer spots. The trail should firm up nicely overnight.

Afternoon

[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
At 1 PM grooming nearly completed; skate deck is very good and the classic tracks looked good enough to pull me in for some double poling.
