Snow base depth = 12 inches, Average snow depth = 19 inches. The base has set up well, and many avid winter recreationists have been out sharing the trail. Please remember to pick up after your dogs, and keep track of your mittens. Enjoy!

Excellent base with lots of fluffy new snow. No trail debris or bare spots anywhere. Nicely groomed deep tracks. With the tall towering pines and the stillness of the woods it was so peaceful. Towards the end of the trail you can hear a stream running down below the right side of the trail - magical!

Snow base depth = 3.5”, Snowfall in the last 24 hours = 10”, Snowfall average depth = 12”. The original base from two weeks back was stymied by last week’s rains. However, yesterday’s snowfall has afforded a second chance. It’s pretty fluffy right now but should sinter with warming temperatures. The USFS thanks all users in advance for their shared trail stewardship.

Thanks to our recent blizzard, George Washington Pines received its first grooming late this morning. The base is minimal, but the trail is clear, packed, and tracked. Please enjoy the lovely winter conditions. We thank you in advance for practicing good trail stewardship and being mindful of other visitors. Let the winter fun begin!
