Grooming Secondhand
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
About 6 inches of new fluffy white, was enough to get trail conditions set up to mid-season form, with all of the trails being leveled plus now having a workable base. Tracks were set on all segments slightly breaking up the surface crust and working in the new snow. One skier was already out, she said she was enjoying the new pillow soft cuts with the solid base underneath. With dropping temps overnight, tomorrow should be pretty prime classicing on the settled set up snow. Alpine Loop, still has one thin spot, that is a slow down situation for 3 feet where the wind, combined with the pine tree creates a low snow situation. There are some scattered rocks to the sides of the trail, advise to ski up on apron, instead of venturing off to avoid where the track cut is almost down to the ground for the 3 feet. Easily seen and avoid.

We built up the areas with snow that still needed deeper depth to put the rakers down to brake up the glazed snow / tracks. Made several loops out to the deer stand and down Harry's Gultch with rakers down, plus on a few other sections needing attention. The results looked pretty good, with the mixed in snow setting up well. Trails are not in consistant condition ; some are fair others are good and most are very good. With the exception of Alpine Loop, which now has a glazed speed run all the way to the sharp turn at the bottom. Pit Run is very skiable with some fast long downs.

Grooming Scheduling
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Groomer has electrical issues. Will notify when operable and trails get groomed. Until then expect glazed trails. Light falling snow today will help conditions. Track setter had been lifted on hills and on turns at bottom of hills making turns easier as well as climbs.

Skied all trails. They were a bit soft, but should be fast tomorrow when its colder. A great day to be in the woods.

Skied Black's at night after grooming the fat bike loop. Tracks were nice and firm. Corners all widened out nice. Tight corners/intersection had track setter lifter to allow easy transition onto adjoining trails. The apron was a little soft but should set up over the next couple days I imagine. Black's is one of a kind and should be visited often! Just get outside!

Awesome twilight ski! A very limited amount of debris along the route. Beautiful hidden gem of a park and well maintained and marked classic trails.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Everything but Alpine Loop has been groomed. All groomed trails are full depth and full coverage, using your good skis is not a problem. Pit Run has some overgrown branches due to it being on private land with pretty dedicated deer hunters as owners; respecting that, we will need to get out and do some trimming ~ but it is very skiable! It was exceptionally good to see a high number of skiers and snowshoers out using their respective trails today. The tracks set yesterday have set up well. Alpine will get groomed after the New Year.

Plenty of fresh snow, great coverage: a bit too much for first groom with no established base. I got snowmobile stuck in the deep snow while making a few corners, tidied up best possible. Closet loop out to airport and through the middle has been packed plus tracked as well as Harry's Gultch. Did not attempt Alpine Loop due to hills on both ends. Also didn't do Pit Run. Will be out trail packing those without groomer tomorrow to get a solid base for snowmobile and better track set as a result. Might just let Pit Run and Alpine set up tomorrow, or may cut track, depends on variables such as wind and temp. Check back tomorrow. 50% of ski trails are very skiable!
