Made a couple passes to pull side snow back onto trail and to soften surface texture. Trails were already getting icy from the high humidity and yesterday's warm temperatures. Set track on every trail except the inside loop of Pit Run. It took a couple of passes to break up granular snow while mixing in new. Track cuts looked pretty good after second or third pass, sorry I messed up the tracks for a few skiers while pulling in side snow on first two passes. Still consider Pit Run and Alpine adventure skiing, using caution in areas with obscured vision. I sent a couple of adventure type skiers from Little Falls back to Pit Run: all smiles when I caught up with them afterwards. Alpine is very skiable in the proper direction: the connection back on the bottom in the pines, just needs more trimming. Looks like a great weekend ahead to enjoy the park.

Absolutely beautiful ski trails! Trails were being freshly groomed while we were there. Highly recommend a stop or destination ski adventure. We will definitely be going back!

Really great skiing! We covered just under four miles this afternoon at Black's Grove and the trails were very well groomed, the snow was perfect, and the scenery was beautiful. Truly a winter wonderland! We did not get to Alpine Loop or Pit Run, but what we skied was just perfect skiing. Would definitely recommend!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Groomed all loops except Alpine. Made two passes around outer loop of Pit Run. First pass was trim, saw and pack; second pass, track was set. Let's just say Pit Run is still rated an adventure ski. Snow cover is great everywhere. Enjoy the mild temps. It was great to see family from out of the area enjoying the park. If you stay in park, good skis can be used. If you adventure over to Pit Run or Alpine, B skis might be best due to blowdown debris lurking under the snow.

Tracks well set and in great condition, only slightly washed out on a few curves. Some twigs and needles where fallen branches were removed and only a couple spots with branches bending over (not obstructing) the trail.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
Trails have been groomed and tracked. More trails have been opened up and groomed in the last week thanks to the hard work of some trail workers. There is still more work to be done but getting better.

As everyone knows all area ski trails took a big hit from iced trees and brush bending over onto the ski trails. Black's is no different. A few of us have chainsawed, snipped and clipped just enough to get the groomer through to set track. There's still some overhanging areas that should be trimmed back. Pit Run and Alpine have not been touched. Not sure if Pit Run will get trimmed enough to ski this winter. Tracks were set on Friday, some additional trails were cleared today as well as tracked. The Gulch is tracked and very skiable. You will do a little bobbing and weaving here there in the tracks to avoid overhanging obstacles in many places. Without being able to pull in and flatten things because of limited trail width, there will also be a few trail crowns and ruts. Bring a snips along on your next outing and help us get things back in top shape for Holiday skiing.

Trails that were groomed were in B shape and very enjoyable. Approximately 1/2 the trails had the track set.

Most trails are groomed and track set. The trails on the south end of the park have had the low snow loaded trees cleared. If you are skiing and see tracks set that trail is cleared. There are some random down branches in the track to keep an eye out for. Pit run and the north half of alpine loop have not been groom but a trail has been started so feel free to explore and help shake and trim some trees. JustSki.
