Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Our machine is up and running. All trails are groomed and classic tracks set. A couple trails are too narrow for skate and classic tracks so they are groomed for classic only. We are working on posting maps and other signage on the trail, but for now if there is a track set right down the middle=classic only. Couple of avoidable thin spots, but I'm still using good skis.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
We got about 80% done Friday night and one of our rear tracks broke. If you are skiing the main loop on the east side of the system, watch out for the groomer because it's still on the trail. Unsure how long the fix will take.
The trails that we groomed and tracked are in great shape. This includes the north meadow and central meadow (skate and classic), classic only in the upper hollow, classic only on the eastside trail. We made one pass on the skate lane of the main loop and started the tracksetting loop when the machine broke. The trails that we didn't get to (lower hollow, southwest meadow and post trail) are in good shape, just a couple inches of fluff on top of previous grooming.

All trails are groomed and classic tracks are set. A couple thin spots in the open areas, but very much avoidable. I'm using good skis.

We are about 80% done, packed and tracked. Main Loop, North Meadow, Upper Hollow are groomed. Sunset Meadow, Central Meadow and some of the connector trails should be done tonight. Conditions are excellent.

Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Skated there this morning and on Monday. Due to the warm temps and skier use the trails are a mix of icy, and hardpack and have degraded from Monday. The inner loop trails were in the best shape with no leaf litter and not icy. There is significant leaf litter in the woods and the classic tracks had a lot of leaves in them.

Second stop of the day, first time skiing at Jackson. Found the trail after a drive around this community. There is no parking lot, no signs, and no public shelter. When you enter the development, stay right at the tall blue structure/belltower?, parallel park on the western most street, and hike a few yards onto the main groomed loop. Saw no signage, trails are not really marked, everything seems to be 2-way. Lots of small loops and cutoffs forking off of the main loop that circles the entire development. All groomed for skate and classic a couple of days ago. These trails vary greatly from gentle rolling prairie, to steep, narrow, technical. Conditions were mixed, nice packed powder in some spots, some rutted icy sections, and a few bare spots mixed in. Again, B skis recommended. This place would be phenomenal after a few fresh inches of snow and a re-groom.

Excellent conditions! Nice deep classic tracks and great skating lane! My wife skated and I did classic around the main loop. What a beautiful and well groomed trail system!

My third stop went way beyond expectations. This is the best conditions I have ever seen Jackson. Great skating lane, deep and solid classic tracks, some single track and excellent grooming. Not a place for the first time skier (quite a few hills) but worth a trip for sure. Don't worry about getting lost, all the trails pretty much wind back to where you started. Great skiing.

Trails are groomed and tracks are set. Still need to hit the Central Meadow Trail and a couple other short sections, but conditions are excellent.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Trails are groomed for skating, too thin for classic tracks. A few bare spots, especially the SE corner of the main loop--might have to take the skis off and walk a 200 ft section. Other than that, trails look good. Central Meadow has been rolled, not groomed, snow is thin. SW Meadow trail has been rolled, not groomed. Enjoy this early season treat!
