First time at Suomi, did south parking to Bighorn Lake loop. Tracks not fresh but in good shape. Had a blast, nice scenery.

Suomi Hills can be best described as "epic". You had better have a bit of SISU when you ski here! Constantly rolling terrain with wicked descents and tough climbs will test your strength and nerve! If you're tired of "perfect" tracks and are looking to spice it up a bit, Suomi is for you! You may not want to bring your best race skis however. The faster you go here the trickier it gets. I love it!

Groomed Suomi Hills trails today. Nice skied in track in most places, but the wolves have no respect, oh well, it’s their place.

Track set firm and fast! Temps about 10 degrees. Blue special worked better than hard green. Really nice conditions! Beautiful snowladen woods. Broke a few branches back as we went. Still more to do.

Groomed the Suomi trails today. About 5” of new snow since the last grooming. Skiers did a good job keeping the track open especially at south suomi. The deer and wolves had their way at the north end.

North Suomi from parking lot to Orange Lake Road and around Adele Lake, Balloon Lake and Beaver Pond loops have been cleared of many fallen trees. A few more trees are yet to be removed by USFS before mowing or grooming but are easily circumvented. Hikers could be helpful by picking up sticks and pushing back brush or cutting overhanging branches over the next few months. Beautiful fall colors coming soon!
