Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
All north Suomi trails north of the Orange Lake Road are groomed and track set. 3" to 5" of fresh snow made for a good track set. Still sticks and brush from early heavy snowfall and downed trees, but all and all pretty nice.

All of North Suomi Trails are now track set. I would say a little rough, but set. Watch out for many areas of brush and tree cutting, as they are rough. We now have a open trail and a base set. The next snow should provide us with a good trail to groom.

Secondhand
[ Trails Open: Partial ]
South Suomi had been groomed but is now hard packed and very fast. My wife took a few tumbles. Very scenic, good coverage, but quite hard. Fresh grooming or more snow needed. The north connector trail and north section have yet to be groomed.

Observation
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
Slowly but surely getting this mess opened up. Will need one more day of tree cutting and getting through the whole north system. I hope to start pulling a groomer through this weekend. The whole system has been either run with a snowmobile or snowshoed. Lots and lots of brush and tree branches in the trails. Estimating about 6 more downed trees to get through. Special shout out to Randy Zupan for snowshoeing, brush cutting, and sending downed tree reports.

[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Skied most of the trails around the the south trailhead. The first 1/4 mile (to Hill Lake) had been used by snowshoers, but after that they had mostly stayed off the groomed ski trails. Lots of fun on these roller coaster trails. It was my first time there and I'm going to be sure to go there more often now.

The south trails at Suomi Hills were so much fun today, with a light layer of snow over good grooming. The connector to the north trails wasn't groomed yet (though it was no problem to ski it in), and the north trails also weren't groomed. Great system of woodsy, hilly single track!

Skied South Suomi yesterday and today, trails are in great shape for the amount of snow out there! Big thank you to the groomer, excellent job!

Parked at the South lot for Suomi hills and had a wonderful ski. Trails are groomed and in great shape. Some sticks on the trail but not bad. Watch for branches overhanging the trail. Thanks so much for grooming!

Finally tracked south Soumi and Amen lake trails. Still some face whackers out there, so be ready to duck and weave, and wear glasses.

Packed most of south Soumi up to the orange lake road. Didn't get the west side of Lucky lake, could be snowshoed to help get through with the snow machine, same with north Suomi. Suomi parking lots are plowed.
