Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Groomed all skating lanes. Classic tracks were in good shape so I left them as they are. I did ski through Red Pine and then the Tower Loop. Nice base and beautiful scenery.

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Skate lane groomed and solid track set throughout Prelude, Lake Loop up to Red Pine Junction and back. Some debris turned up from thin base. Beautiful day with sun shining, calm, 25 degrees. Still good skiing beyond RPJ though not recently groomed.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Both
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Fresh snow 2 inches on top of packed and tracked trails. Youth skiers had great fun skiing in the classic tracks with lots of good snowplowing snow to manage the steeper downhills. Skate skiers had to work a little harder on the uphills. Temps mild, perfect day out after long cold spell. Groomers have enough snow now!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All trails groomed. They are in good shape. Tracks set on almost all trails. Still some areas too thin to set tracks. But skate lanes are nice.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ B skis ]
An inch of snow over ice made for nice skiing in the hard set track except for the downhills with curves where the track was damaged during soft conditions. Skate deck had been roughed up by groomer a few days ago and was really rough with chunks of ice balls! Extra blue wax worked fine in the new snow. Regardless of challenges, we happily did ski up Baker's Road to Red Pine Junction and back down safely. We did not do Lake Loop.

Afternoon
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Took the groomer over the skate lanes on Prelude and Red Pine to try to break up the ice. Did nothing with the classic tracks. Can now snow plow to slow down on the downhill. The classic tracks coming down red pine are poor because of skiers coming out of the tracks on the corners during the thaw. Need some new snow to work with.

Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Rock skis ]
Hazardous skiing on icy ruts with skiff of snow. Tracks still set, but even the first downhill very dangerous due to frozen ruts from skiers falling and skiing out on the corners when conditions were soft. Flat areas around Prelude loop were nice in the track where there was no previous damage. Temps -5 degrees but sun was out and temps warming up to 0. Balmy! Trailhead fire going so maybe hike or just take extra caution. Falling hurts!
