Classic ski trails at Whitetail Woods are excellent. I started skiing at noon just as the groomer finished the trails, doing an excellent job. I'm pleased to report trails are in excellent shape. And no oak leaf debris! Fresh grooming, firm tracks, plenty of snow, open fields, pine and deciduous forests, mild temps, a perfect day for a ski.

Grooming plans: The groomer plans to heads out mid-afternoon today to groom the entire park. If all goes well, the park will be completed by evening today. A few segments of ski trails are closed due to natural resource work in the southeast corner of the park. Visit Dakota Parks website Trail Conditions for a map with the closed trails identified. Closures are expected to last through today, with all trails reopening for the weekend.

Whitetail Woods received 8 inches of dry powder last night. The groomer needs to use the Pistenbully due to an icy base, which is grooming Lebanon Hills Regional Park first (this morning), and Spring Lake Park Reserve second (this afternoon). Hoping to get to Whitetail Woods for grooming tomorrow Thursday but they may wait until after the next round of snow stops before grooming Whitetail Woods (Friday grooming at the latest).
