Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Fantastic conditions with about one inch of fresh powder. Fresh tracks set, among others, on Twin Lakes, Wavy Gravy, and my ever favorite: Roy's Run. I skied a total of 30K. It was nice to see the enthusiastic high-school skiers. First-rate recreation, thanks, I can't wait to be back!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Another 2" of new snow throughout the day, bringing the week total to about 8". Lovely day of skiing and grooming. Very good to excellent conditions. We groomed about 55km throughout the day including setting track on the outer singletrack trails that hadn't been tracked this year. This evening we combed out the skate trails after the HS kids were done with their night ski. We will be back out in the morning touching up a few of the classic trails.

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Conditions like in January. I skied Sukkerbusk twice, also Mother North Star, Rootin Tootin, and Wavy Gravy, total of 23 K. Fresh tracks set on fresh snow. It looks like the perfect season-opener!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Good to excellent early season conditions. 2" of new snow past 24 hours with lingering flurries gently falling throughout the day. Nice to have the temp climb back above 0 after yesterday morning low of -25.
Grooming on 50km of trail today, 30km set for classic skiing only, around 20km packed and combed for skating. We will be back out in the morning touching up some of the trails today and setting track on more outer trails to have 45km tracked for classic only on the weekend combined. Some of the marsh crossings on the outer trails still a bit rough but labeled as "adventure" skiing and passable throughout. 20km of fat bike trail groomed Tuesday evening. Firm deck with this dusting of new snow on top.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
We woke up to 4-5" of new snow and temps around zero, falling down to -15F at dusk. Skies cleared making for a beautiful day. We groomed on 60km of trail today in the subzero temps, packing and combing and setting double track on about 15km of trail. A classic ski at dusk found the tracks setting up nicely and the new snow providing excellent early season conditions. We plan to be grooming daily with majority of track setting on Thursday.

It's been a phenomenal week on the trails grooming and skiing. Weather has been perfect and the trails are taking shape and skiing superb for early season thanks to great work by the grooming crew. No ski rental available or lodge services until December 13th. Just Ski.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
9" of new snow the past 24 hours. I went out yesterday evening grooming on 15km of trail after 3" had fallen. Today my son Jens and I spent most of the day packing, rolling and combing. I went for a ski after grooming skate skiing on Skaters Watlz, Sap Run, Suicide hill and a few connectors using my best skis. Grooming plans: We will be grooming on the entire 80km trail system this week, packing and combing. We also plan on grooming the fat bike loops later this week. At this time no tracks are set. Trails are open to season pass holders and team members. No services available at this time -- the resort will open on December 13th for full services.

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle Grooming
[ Trails: Closed, Rock skis ]
We woke up to 5-6" of snow on the ground after 8" had fallen in a 24 hour period. We groomed an out and back segment on Sukkerbusk to the bottom of Suicide Hill than back. With nearly 2" of rain before the snow, it was key to stay on ridges and high ground with so many low spots holding water. Went out skiing later and was probably the best October ski I can ever remember. This is actually saying a lot since we have had skiable snow 8 out of the last 11 Octobers. Pretty surreal to be skiing in fall color when a few days ago we were mountain biking in short sleeves! Snow continues to fall and should be decent early season skiing for another 24 hours before it melts off. Lot of branches and trees folding over with the initial heavy wet snow.
