[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
I was out this morning packing trails. After only one round I ran into equipment problems. There's only a small segment with a track set and nothing for a skate lane. I'm not sure how long we're down for. Sorry for the bad news! Pioneer Creek is surrounded by plenty of other beautiful systems to visit while in the neighborhood. Have great week!

Grooming Scheduling
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All trails are groomed and classic tracks are set. Trails are excellent with a firm skate lane set from last nights cold temps. There's plenty of tree debris still falling from the storm. On Saturday, Conover is hosting Blizzard Blast at the town park. There is a sleigh ride that crosses the ski trail near the trail head, please be careful for ruts! What a beautiful day to be out. Enjoy the trails!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All trails were compacted yesterday and today. I plan to cut and level early tomorrow morning. With the warm temps I don't plan to have a track set until Friday. With this amount of snow packing and cleaning up is a very slow process. Be patient, the weekend is not far away!

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The classic tracks were firm and pretty fast despite the cold. There were a few leaves and pine needles, but that just adds to the kick. No rocks or sticks. Didn't skate, but the deck looked great. The first 1/2 mile runs beside a snowmobile trail, but after that, the ski trail is quiet, beautiful, and well laid out.

I cut, groomed and reset the track this morning. I've been working to repack the trail due to a few visitors on snowmobiles! Very nice conditions with a few soft spots on the bigger 4 mile loop. Enjoy the weekend!
