Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Skied 6 miles of upper trails. Trails were rolled but not tracked. Very soft snow so it was a lot of work but very beautiful in woods with all the new snow. The trails are well protected in spite of very high winds today.

Tried to skate the skate ski loop but it was not groomed. Plowed a small portion but it got too difficult. Plenty of snow and great conditions for classic skiing, should have stuck to that!

Lovely, fresh snow. We skied above the bridge on both sides of the river. The groomer had been over most of the trails, with classic tracks set in some of them by the time we were done. Great coverage.

Excellent morning ski. Grooming was excellent. Sky was bright and blue. Especially enjoyed the trails on the far side of the highway.

Trails are fully groomed. We used our good classic skis, just had to be careful in a few spots. Some sticks, grass and bare concrete. Lots of foot prints in the tracks by the visitor center.

I tried to skate ski at Gooseberry today on their skating loop. I classic skied two days ago up there and it was good. There was 6-8” of snow on the trail today, it was very uneven and it wasn’t groomed at all. There was no glide and your skis would just sink down in the snow. It was horrible conditions for skate skiing. The classic tracks looked good. I would advise calling ahead for grooming reports before you make the trip up the shore.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ B skis ]
Trails were groomed, and snow covered in almost all areas. A few spots of grass, but not too many, and able to hop out of the groomed tracks and avoid any rough spots. Classic tracks were in good groomed shape. Two tracks in most areas. All around, a good ski. I headed across 61, and the Northeast section, and spent a good 2+ hours out there. Happy day! Great to be out again for the season. And as always, thanks for the great grooming.

I made the drive up to the Gooseberry cross country ski trails today. The trails were freshly groomed yesterday. The classic tracks were a bit soft in some areas, but there was plenty of snow on the trails on the upper side of Hwy 61. The lower side, closer to the lake, needs more snow to cover the grassy areas. It was great to be skiing again. Most of the trails are double-tracked and the trails are very well marked with signage.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
All ski trails have been groomed as of today. Overall the ski trails are in good condition. There are areas of thin snow cover with exposed rock and tree roots mainly under spruce, cedar, and exposed ridge lines to the northwest.
