Notes

Located on Rainy Lake, accessible by the VNP ice road only. Maintained by Voyageurs National Park. A rolling classic trail in old growth pine that crosses beaver ponds and rock ridges. Some good hills.

Firsthand: Classic 
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
The ice road from VNP Rainy Lake visitors center is open. The beginners loop and both lower and upper loops of the Pine trail are nicely groomed.
The Ridge trail is not open. The tracks are generally good. In very bright sunshine today's ski was superb, double pole delight.

Observation 
[ Trails Open: All ]
I did not ski the trails, but did some snowshoeing this weekend. I walked along side some of the ski trails closer to the "parking lot" on the lake. Tracks seemed to be in decent shape. I noticed there were a few sections where people really butchered the ski tracks by walking over them with boots and snowshoes.
