Manmade loop was super fast, has set up and been groomed fantastically this week. Kudos to the grooming team!
Natural was thin and required slower speeds to avoid grassy/dirty patches, but still totally skiable. Recommend B skis here. Regardless, we could always use another foot for sure.

The natural snow on the North and Nature Center trails is still in good shape. No track, but the skating was great. A few dirty, thin spots, but easy to avoid. Thank you Hyland groomers. I like variety so it’s nice to get off the man made loop.

Began skiing today around 2:00. The 5k manmade loop is in pristine condition - firm skate deck and crisply set tracks. All natural snow trails packed for skating but no tracks to speak off. Used good skis all around but you will need to dodge a few spots on the natural snow trails. Well done groomers!

Hyland at 8:45 in the morning is quiet and beautiful. The 3 mile manmade loop is in fabulous condition. Thanks to the daily grooming from the Hyland groomer.

In addition to the artificial snow trails, I skied the North Trail and Lake Trail. I used my B skis, not knowing what to expect. North was good for A skis. Lake would be OK with A skis, if you're observant and ski around the few spots of wood chips that were exposed. There is a classic track on both trails, but it looks like skier set. Artificial trail of course is perfect, but much slower snow than the real stuff.

[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
Skied the natural snow Lake loop with my old rock skis. Glad I did since there was a lot of dirty snow and frequent wood chips on the trail. Other than that, the snow was really fast even with my slow skis and a phenomenal day for a ski. Classic tracks looked new.

Witnessed the inaugural opening of the full man made loop under a waning gibbous moon. Conservative classic and left leaning skaters announced overwhelming bipartisan accolades of the 5 km superiorly groomed White Hyland lawn. Trending of exit polls suggest both houses expect continued support of this current grooming administration.

Great conditions on the man made trail. Noticed some dirt poking through the natural trail at the bottom of the big hill by Hyland downhill. No lights on the final hill but was great once some daylight came through.

Deck was in great condition and I was flying around the open loop up to frog town. Looks like full loop is imminently close. Natural trails were really good and a nice soft snow compared to the crunchy man made deck.
