Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Most, Rock skis ]
Stopped by around 2:00 p.m. to ski some of the natural trails. Tons of cars in the parking lot and lots of skiers on the man-made loops. I ended up skiing only the Lake trail, and would not recommend it for beginners. The classic track was non-existent in much of the trail, and a number of the downhills were very washed out and thin. Skate deck however was pretty good, outside of a few dirty patches and some wood chips. Had to cut my exploration short as I realized my one of my favorite practice skis has cracked.

Only reporting on the condition of the man made trails. They were in excellent condition this morning. As a bright spot they were busy working on the next leg of the trail system with the bombadiers and snow guns.
Here's to more trail in 2021.
Classic tracks were well set and the skate deck was firmed up from the fresh snow.

Used my race classic on the lake loop. Fantastic snow (thanks groomers!) and felt safe on my nice skis. There were a couple of sections of slightly dirty snow, but easy enough to avoid. No tracks were set, but the snow felt great with blue extra kick wax.

Skied on my good classic skis on natural snow and manmade snow. Perfect day for skiing with good snow and minimal wind. Trails were well groomed and packed when I skied 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. Still no tracks on the natural snow trails and the last 2K of the man made loop is still being prepared, but otherwise a fabulous day and conditions for skiing on good skis!

I'd only use the good skis on the man made trails. These have been stretched to go around frog pond for about a 2.7k loop. Tracks were firm. Careful going down the frog pond hill as the tracks were scrubbed out at the bottom due to grooming.

Evening
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Lake trail (natural) was a joy to ski this evening. It was a little uneven and a couple of spots that were thin or had debris, but pretty easy to get around. Nice to combine this with the frog town loop now open as well.

Frogtown is now open at Hyland. Classic tracks were great. Skate deck looked great too. Snow guns were on.

Skate skied today. Man-made loop (Star) and up the hill (Willow Creek) was excellent and populated. Natural snow B ski report: Lake Trail was not officially groomed yet skiable with some spots with twigs and leaves. South Hill Trail was great with a few twiggy spots. No fellow skiers in my presence. Lovely ski!
