Great morning to ski at Hyland—The man made trails are still in good shape, and fast! 9am and 45 degrees, skate deck firm—we were surprised! The grooming has been great all season—thanks Three Rivers.

The snow-making loop was in great shape at my 8:17 start. All corn groomed overnight - I am pretty sure it refroze overnight; parking lot runoff was frozen. The usual deeper, loose corn on the uphills was there but not too bad except for maybe the Boulder Ridge climb during my 8:17 to 8:51 ski. It was right around 30 degrees. I used FastWax Yellow LF that had been overlaid with Opti-Glide before my Friday ski here. Great ski - hit 9.4 mph on the last mile - with the temps we have been having. Kudos to Three Rivers for putting down such a great base and keeping it groomed and open.

Epic late season grooming this morning at 6:30am - firm, fast, fun, great skate deck and solid classic tracks on the 5K loop. Thanks to the groomers for working magic, it seemed quite fast at 35 degrees and still not too bad at 8:30 when it was above 40. 10 laps yesterday and 8 laps today was a great way to wrap up the season. Great seeing all the happy skiers this weekend at Hyland!

Skied man made starting at 5:45. Skate deck was firm and fast. Fastest conditions of year again for me. Boulder Ridge was almost too firm/icy... had some exciting descents! Kudos to the groomers for amazing work.

The snow making loop was in good condition - almost all corn; just found a few stretches of a packed surface on the most deeply shaded side of some of the segments. Boulder Ridge downhill had been swept clean of loose snow in the primary lane skiers were following. Predictably, the corn got deeper on the uphills and slowed my climbs. Per my car, it was 38 degrees at my 10:30 start and 45 shortly after I left around 11:00. I used FastWax Yellow LF overlaid with Opti-Glide. I was too late to catch the window. So it was high effort with me walking the end of the uphills to the tops of Scenic Foothills and Boulder Ridge. Nevertheless, I had a pretty fast return and averaged 6.75 mph overall. Very good for me considering the conditions. Lots of skiers mostly doing classic. Get here early if you are going to skate.

Skiing was great this morning around 8am! The base is still in great shape and the skiing was smooth and fast this morning. As the temps approached 40 F around 10am, the snow began to get soft and slushy. Get it in before the temps get too warm!

Great conditions this early morning in both the skate and classic tracks on the 5K man-made loop. I managed to squeeze in four hot laps of the full course in 57 minutes, which felt pretty good considering it was 35 degrees at 6:30am! Noticeably slower and more mashed potatoes by 7:30am, so the sweet spot continues to be early morning. No ice to worry about, even on the Boulder Ridge descent.

Manmade loop was fast tonight for skating. You could get an edge on most of the trail. Groups of HS racers out getting ready for state. Great spring skiing.

Skied man-made trails only. Typical spring type conditions with slight freeze on skate deck overnight making it lightning fast. Definitely fastest of year. Able to get adequate edge while skating. Kudos to the groomers. I will keep it up as long as temps get below freezing. The key is to get out early. Skied natural snow trails this morn from 8 til 9.30. I wanted to avoid manmade loop because of section meets. None of the natural trails had been groomed, despite having 2 to 3 inches of new snow. The north trail was the least bad of them all, with some ice and bare spots; grooming may have helped with both, not to mention packing/saving snow. Lake and Hill trails were horrendous. The Hill trail was outright dangerous (to both body and skis) bare ice, bare spots, and big chunks of ice. Find another place the next few days.
