Skate deck for the snowmaking loop was in excellent condition at 9:00 am. Classic tracks also appeared to be in excellent condition on the snowmaking loop. Even though the temperature Tuesday night/Wednesday morning didn't get below 40F, radiative cooling caused the trail to freeze after grooming, so it was fast skating till it started to soften in places by 9:30 am. By 10:00 am the slopes that were facing the sun (southeast and south) had softened up a lot, and were slow and challenging. Flats and shaded areas and slopes facing away from the sun were still firm at 10:15 am. Grooming on the snowmaking loop was superb!!! Beautiful corduroy. Even the Boulder Ridge downhill was in good shape at least through 10:15 am...soft enough surface to control speed and maneuver, and no big piles of snow or ruts.

The snow making loop was in excellent condition at my 10:56 am start. There was little "sugar" accumulation to slow you down so it was my fastest skate of the year. The top or north portion of the Star Loop was closed so the middle lane was reversed so you turned right onto It on your return, climbed the hill and then went down it to turn left and reconnect back onto the outer portion of the loop to ski back to the trailhead. It was 37 degrees and sunny and fairly busy but not so crowded as to slow you down. I used FastWax Yellow buffed with fluoro paste. I was able to skate non stop from the trail head to the shelf on Boulder Ridge, herringboned to the top and skied down with no issues with snow plow wake at all, skated to the intermediate flat on Scenic Foothills and after walking to the final climb skated most of the way up that and then skated all the way to the final hill which I walked to the top before skating to the end. Not bad for 69 after three miles of frustratingly slow classic and playing hooky the day before.

Went out this morning at 8 AM and conditions were excellent for classic; skating conditions were also excellent. It was beginning to soften a bit by 9:30 but still very good. Hope things hold up for another couple of days.

Skied the man-made snow trails only. Skate deck was heavily rutted and starting to freeze, making it fast but hard to control. Classic track was icy in the few spots I hopped in to double-poie.

Perfect conditions, surprisingly. Beautiful new snow just right especially if you waxed as it is slightly sticky. Groomed tracks holding up perfectly.

Soft sometimes melty snow and occasionally still icy. Overall great. No dirt yet. Busy but friendly. Reminder everyone, be kind to parents with little kids (one dad told me he got yelled at for being slow in the groomed track). Thanks Hyland for a great year.

Thank you to the Hyland crew for the excellent grooming all season long. And for putting out the mat this morning to walk across the ice at the trail head. Skate deck was excellent this morning. The tracks were icy in areas. Get out while the getting is still good.

I still see no reason for using B skis on the man made trails. Perfect grooming on the 5k loop. I'm not certain the natural snow trails are even open for skiing, I'd avoid them at this point.

Great spring conditions today for the Hoigaards Breadsmith Slush Rush! Manmade trails were freshly groomed and tracked.
