Groomed and smooth, best stuff I've been on in the last week. No classic tracks set yet. The middle hill was not groomed, which isn't a big loss, you still get great up and downs. Still need B skis, as the main parts of the trail have some debris yet, but I got a lot of sticks out of the way, and overall improved debris-wise. Plus the additional trail is still a bit brushy-need to remember to bring the cutters next time to clear that out. But it's getting better! Wind had picked up as I was finishing up, so probably more stuff fell on the trail; it was falling almost as fast as I was cleaning stuff up. So if you're out at Silvermine, please be kind and flick sticks into the pines!

First tracks out there today and it stayed that way while I was out. Not groomed again after the small snowfall we had today, so the snow was soft and slow, but a good base. Downhills are about as slow as they'll probably get, which was nice. Still no classic tracks set. Made tracks on all the trail to help map it out for others; you could almost use good skis for most of the main groomed parts, but would definitely need B skis for the newly added trail and in the field by the gate. Drive is currently plowed. Still, it was greatly appreciated!

Packed and tracked pretty well; soft snow, but still pretty solid. Debris is sticking through many places; more snow should cover it up, and I'm hoping to come out and snip down any other sticks. No classic tracks are set, maybe after the next snowfall. Unless you have a truck or snow tires, park by the gate, you can ski in from there. Much easier to get your car out, since the drive isn't plowed yet. Ski team was just coming out to practice as I was leaving and we're planning to run the snow ATV around to pack the track down

I had an amazing ski with my best friend this afternoon at Silver Mine. Craig did a great job with first grooming, a few small twigs popping up but otherwise great skiing. The hills are tough but the views are totally worth it. I plan to get a pass and maybe volunteer, this area has great potential for man made trails.

A crew came out and cleared trails yesterday and gave it a once over groom. It was a bit soft and a little lumpy in spots when I first started. However, one of the guys came out and started grooming while I was there to help set it up for the cold, and really smoothed it out and packed it, which made for really nice skiing! There's still some debris throughout the trail, and I did my best picking that up, but recommend B skis for some of the stuff sticking through the snow and the thin spots on one of the hills and a small area at the base of one of the hills. Another inch or two may cover that up, or I'll get back out here with my shears to lop it down so they aren't through the snow anymore. Still, not too shabby of a turn around to get these trails ready to go for folk! I had a lot of fun climbing the hills and going around the trails!
Word of caution: Parking and the driveway may be a bit snowy for some vehicles. If you are at all worried about getting stuck, I would suggest driving around to the dead end, and either park on the road or the lot across from Silvermine; you can cut through the field until you run into one of the outer trails- you can't miss it. This is also good for when the main gate is closed and you want to be somewhat close to the trails. Trails were also extended into the field next to the main gate, so even parking there now, and walking up and to the trail in the field to the left will be an option. We're looking into getting the drive plowed as soon as we can.
