The Skijor trail was combed and tracked today. The skate deck and classic track are in good condition, except along the the railroad tracks north of the dog park, where we are still short of base where there had been some utility work. In this area there is some dirt worked into the base, which can be seen and avoided, but B skis recommended. Bunker Hills Park and Bunker Hills Golf Course were combed and tracked yesterday and remain in good, firm condition.

Skated campground, full golf course, and skijoring loop at about 2:30 this afternoon (about 20K). Very well groomed, skate deck flat in most spots, newly combed and in good shape. Golf course was the slightly soft, but I needed a workout anyway. Trail was slightly wind blown in a few areas, good skis not a problem (the few thins spots on north skijoring and under trees on golf course were easily avoidable). Tracks set and seemed firm on a couple of my downhill rides; going back tomorrow for a classic run!

Skied the Bunker Hills Skijoring trail (South Loop) and the trails was in very good shape, the groomer did a very good job with the ice. I would stay away from the north loop until we get more snow, there are some dirt patches on the north loop from an earlier utility project that took place in November/December. Thanks to Bunker Hills and the great job on the trail.

Bunker Hills Park was groomed today. We were able to break up the ice pack pretty well, with the Rice Lake Legend leading with the Pisten Bully and the Martin St. Marvel detailing behind with a Tidd-Tech. The trails are far from perfect, but about as good as you can get in these tough conditions with minimal base. Skate deck in good condition and getting hard fast. The classic track is fresh and in good condition, with a few shallow and icy stretches. Bunker Golf Course was groomed yesterday. The ice pack was tilled, with the skate deck and classic track much improved, but in general trails are hard and glazing up. Skijor was also also groomed yesterday with similar results, except the old track remains and is very icy.

In Bunker Hills today we groomed Skijor and the Golf Course, and we're pleased we were able to break up the ice pack to a good degree. On Skijor the skate deck is in good condition; the old classic tracks were left undisturbed and remain icy. The skate deck and classic track on the Golf Course are fresh and in good condition. The Park has not been groomed since last week is very icy.

The weekend's warm temps really did a number on the trails. Anything open, especially with south exposure, is icy and in poor condition. Experiments to groom at other sites produced poor results and were not worth the effort. The loss to what was already a minimal base limits options and equipment. Think snow!
