Skied at Lebanon Friday, Sunday and today. The conditions and beauty are as good as I have seen in the 30 plus years I have skied here. Freshly groomed today. Tracks deep and firm. Don't miss these great trails.

I found classic ski trails to be in the best condition in many years. Classic ski tracks were recently packed and tracked with no footprints and very little leaf litter. It appears that park staff had been out clearing downed pine tree branches from heavy wet snows. Keep an eye out for the goats.

The trails were groomed this morning and are in fantastic shape. The tracks are deep and firm but not icy. Unfortunately, walkers had tromped down the freshly groomed ski trails near the Visitor Center, through Intersection 36, and toward Intersection 32.

This was my second time ever to Lebanon hills. So fabulous with all this wonderful new snow. Well groomed and in good shape especially the Jenson lake area. Hard firm track. Extra blue wax was good. Miles of trails all double tracked. Classic skiers paradise.

Groomed Thursday - skied classic just about everywhere - conditions were the excellent! Classic tracks were in very good condition. No leaves.

Beautiful sunny afternoon for a ski. Trails were mostly in good condition. There were parts that were excellent but a few spots that were fair due to heavy use. A couple of spots were washed out. I parked by the Jensen trailhead and then skied over to Holland lake shelter and O'Brien lake before looping back. Tracks were a little icy and fast. Little debris on the trail. Used skin skis.

As Pristine as I have ever seen it my 28 years of skiing here! So perfect that I can only rate the trail as "infinity" minus the following. 1. Beware going over 1 foot tall "Cliff" as you cross over the road to Camp Butwin on the southern voyage (first road crossing). 2. At least one walker had been out down the center of the trail. 3. Herringbones on shallow hills with no regard for tracks. 4. The sticky snow left behind some boulders that may be a concern after the next thaw/freeze. 5. I used my skin skis that were waxed for 0 deg C and so I was a little slower than was possible. Get out and enjoy it while it lasts! It was a joy to ski past the visitor center in actual tracks, as well under the pines with adequate snow.

Skied the big outer loop on the east side of Pilot Knob. Conditions were excellent. Used waxless skis so can't comment on how sticky the snow was, but tracks were firm and the snow has seemed to dry out a bit from yesterday. Pros: Packed and tracked throughout, some yesterday and some this morning; Good coverage throughout, even under the pines and near the Visitor's Center; Minimal leaf litter and debris from a few downed branches, now all cleared; Great temps, moderate wind, sunshine and blue skies later in the ski; Goats eating buckthorn just west of the Visitor's Center; Yearling deer right on the trail just in front of us; Weekday afternoon, so not many people (may be a con if you're an extrovert). Cons (had to reach here a bit): A few spots with some ruts/divots between the tracks (see one of the pictures) and a few spots with chunks of snow to the far right; of the track. Did not affect skiing, probably due to the wet snow with the groomer first pass. All in all a great ski. So wonderful to have this kind of conditions here in the Cities.

Skied west of Pilot Knob. The trails have been packed, and cleared of some branch debris. Skied the longer loop but saw the "shortcut" was packed too. Great work by park, today and yesterday as I was expecting to be tracking through the foot or so of new snow. ( Gunflint conditions in the metro!) Nary a leaf on the trails - so far. Didn't ski trails to east of Pilot Knob but those looked wider so figured they were rolled, no tracks yet.

Skied the west trails off Johnny Cake Road. Skate deck was in not great condition; very tracked by hikers, snowshoers, and dogs. Windblown with leaves and pine needles, and dog droppings. Still a great time; I haven't skied these since the late 90s.
