Brrrrrr. Good day to test out your cold weather gear and wax. I had Rex blue which was fine as long as I kept my skis moving. Up the hills the skis stopped sliding. In the track they were good. Warm skin kept everything toasty except my toes. Saw only one other skier so might be a good idea to bring a cell phone. Skied the Grimm and King. Grooming appeared to have been done yesterday.

Trail was groomed after the snow. Very good skating. It was a little soft from the fresh snow. Some drifting on the trail but only a factor in exposed areas. Tracks were OK. Sometimes filled with drifting snow.

Rated as fair by the park but trails were freshly groomed and very good. I skated king, sky, Grimm. Tracks looked good.

The hoarfrost was out this morning along with the groomer. Lots of people out skiing and fatbiking! I classic skied king and Grimm trail and they were set tracks for classic. Other than some animal skat and some occasional twigs the conditions were fantastic. They couldn't be any better better!

Skied Grimm farm trail 11am -12noon. Classic tracks were in very good condition, a little icy in some areas but just from the freezing last night. Still able to get good grip and good glide. Lots of folks out on the trails both skating and classic. Great day of skiing.

King was in excellent condition. It had been rolled last night or this morning and had seen only a moderate level of skier traffic. Lots of corduroy but it was soft and consequently slow. I did the smallest loop in the woods after completing King and it was faster I assume because of the harder packed base. It was about 24 degrees. I used FastWax Blue LF.

I classic skied the well tracked Lake and Sky trail. Very nice. I was hoping to do King, but it did not appear to be tracked for classic. Overall, lovely afternoon!

Skate skied Carver near dusk. It was packed but the beautiful flurries that fell throughout Thursday still had a nice coating over the top making the trails a bit soft. Some parts of the trail in open fields were getting drifts from the wind. Tracks were not set for classic. Trails had great coverage and I used good skis.

Skied King on my classics skin skis. Super fast with good grip. Thank you groomers for creating a new track that had room to pole on the right side. Sadly, a snowmobiler messed up about the last 10 percent of King trail. The trailhead hut personnel were aware of this and said they called police.
