Skied at Carver this afternoon, skated Grimm and Lake trails, pretty great conditions, minimum debris and pretty solid skate deck, classic track looked good. Lots of people out enjoying the trails.

Fantastic Grimm skate trail at Carver. Groomer rated it fair, I disagree. Only dicey fast on downhill onto Grimm Trail, the rest was super. Note: Road intersection where you turn left to trailhead building was icy even with snowtires.

Good conditions. Recently groomed. Some icy tracks, most of track is fine. Easy to climb hills, I snowplowed quite a bit down big steep hills. Very fun King Trail well worth $7.

Just finished skiing classic on the Grimm Farm trail. The trail had been groomed, but the tracks had not been reset and were icy. Also, the tracks are set so far to the right that with the deep snow, using right pole was a problem.

Groomers have made passes at everything but Grimm trail as of 11am, but they were still working. Road leading up to trailhead is icy. Trails are great.

Rather magical being in the woods with a light fog. Starting around noon, I did not encounter another person until 1.5 hours into my ski. Skied all the trails. Tracks were relatively fast and in good condition with some scattered tree debris and occasional washed out area (usually the left track). The biggest issue was that the track is set very far to the right on a large portion of the course, making it difficult to right pole. Skate deck looked freshly groomed but I don't skate ski so can't comment more than that. Love Carver.

Beautiful. Modestly soft track. Poor right side pole plant on king trail, but beautiful. Grimm very good. I think skate was slightly undulating. Packed trail decent but just so much so to pack down or even set track. I'd call it good and gorgeous scenery.

Best snow in years. Skied the King trail once and Grimm trail twice. Track was good overall but seemed like the groomer tried to get to far right in many places and left no edge to get a right pole plant. Also none of the downhills were tracked which is quite a let down for classic skiing. Sure wish the park district would favor classic style in a park like this. [ It should be noted that many skiers prefer not to have downhills tracked, especially if the descent is technical. -- Ed. ]

Beautiful snow globe scenery today! Snuck out during lunch and was not disappointed. Only skied the Lake loop and extender - soft and slow, but should be improving. When I left, all trails had a least one pass. The grooming crew is getting at it - the coming days will be amazing.

Skated the King and Sugar Bush trails. Trails are in great condition. No ruts and fully packed. Not many leaves needles or sticks in trails either.
