East-side perimeter trails were recently groomed and in excellent condition. It was 34 degrees and cloudy. I used FastWax Yellow LF. There was just a little bit of loose and slightly moist snow on top of a firm deck. While downhills could have been faster, the flats skated easy and pretty fast and I was able to skate almost every uphill. My tracking software had me really excited when it reported a 9.1 mph average pace. However when I looked at my initial splits and how it mapped the first part of the trail I covered as a bunch of zig zagged straight lines, I realized my phone or tracking software's gps had failed me and I had only covered the 4.75 miles at a still decent for me 6.5 mph pace.

Quality conditions on the green, brown and yellow loops at Lake Elmo this eve. Classic tracks are mostly intact. Very little trail debris. Glad to see many skiers out enjoying the good conditions, both skate and classic, even after dark. Really appreciate the fantastic Nordic Center facility, regular grooming, and trail lights. Thank you Washington County Parks staff and thank you Legacy Amendment!

Firm, Fast, and very Fun night ski. Probably the fastest ski of the year for both classic and skating. Recent grooming with firm skate deck and deep classic track. Doesn't get much better than this and hats off to the Lake Elmo crew!

Skied Eagle Point Lake Red loop at noon today. So nice to have the groomed classical tracks finally, and even the muliti-use section was tracked! The few walkers and biker stayed out of the tracks. It was a beautiful ski around the lake.

Wonderful conditions at Lake Elmo East Side trails today! Snow was very fast and skate lane was packed, flat and firm. Classic tracks were also very well formed. Lots of groups out today having fun. Great day to ski!
