Skated "outer loop" including the Island late morning, temp ranging from about 28 and up (34 when I left around noon). Trails were all rated "Fair" on the board, which was a good assessment of the 95% of the trail that wasn't icy. Most leaves I've ever seen on the first long hill headed out, including turn toward the Island, though the low stretch to the Island and its loop were in surprisingly better shape. Skate deck was getting lots of traffic, but with the usual excellent grooming, well, it would have paid to go earlier in the day, when it was "excellent". Don't imagine they damaged my skis, but leaves, ice, and depth of the base made me glad I had the B skis.

What great trail conditions out at Baker park this morning. 99% of the trail was an excellent condition the other 1% was where water had Frozen on the trail. Both the classic tracks in the skate deck wer close to perfectly groomed this morning.

Baker trails are fabulous. A top ten ski today wirh snow on the trees. Just a tune bit of wet icy spots. Not worth any worry!

Trails were pretty icy and there were leaves now on the trail in many places, especially in the classic tracks. A few bare patches in some spots, as well. All the trails were open, and are skiable, but in fair condition. At this point, better for skating than classic.

Saturday and Sunday I skated the "outer loop" several times each day. Groomer had done their usual superb job with the snow on hand (which hasn't met the "all I need is 2 inches once a week" criterion) and by noon and 40 degrees, my skate technique was adapting to weak and mushy snow. More than one classic skier was disappointed with leaves in the track. Dirt was showing through here and there, e.g., stretch to the island and start of Timber Trail, and groomer was out shoveling in spots before their next pass. Used my best skis but these highs in the 40s may suggest otherwise. In summary, it's Baker, it's real snow, and I say enjoy it often--but get there early in the day.

We skijored on the multi-use trail at Baker today. It was perfect. Fresh corduroy but no classic tracks set. No bare patches or leaves on the trail. Couldn't have asked for better conditions.

Corduroy skied over by 8:00am. I guess sometimes you gotta share. Otherwise typically perfect Baker heaven.

Great snow and exceptional groomers. They have shoveled in the very few bare spots. This hasn't been this good in years. Track had some leaves, but it was deep and fast for double poling.

Wow. Freshly groomed and great conditions. I was skating, but tracks look great too. They have great groomers at Baker. Last year I saw them stopping to pick up branches on the trail while they were grooming. Today I saw places where they had stopped to shovel and cover thin areas. Thanks for the hard work, groomers!

As far as I could tell all trails were open. Skied the outer loop a couple times. The only trail issues were a section on the island on the classic track where dirt was showing and a couple of sections on the skate deck where it looked thin. Great skiing at Baker.
