Great snow and exceptional groomers. They have shoveled in the very few bare spots. This hasn't been this good in years. Track had some leaves, but it was deep and fast for double poling.

Wow. Freshly groomed and great conditions. I was skating, but tracks look great too. They have great groomers at Baker. Last year I saw them stopping to pick up branches on the trail while they were grooming. Today I saw places where they had stopped to shovel and cover thin areas. Thanks for the hard work, groomers!

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
As far as I could tell all trails were open. Skied the outer loop a couple times. The only trail issues were a section on the island on the classic track where dirt was showing and a couple of sections on the skate deck where it looked thin. Great skiing at Baker.

You know that dream where you find new rooms in your house that you somehow never noticed before? That was Baker today. Skied an hour and a half and didn't do all the trails. Skate deck was firm, though little corduroy left by the time I arrived, except on Evergreen (which lacked classic tracks). Tracks had few leaves that I saw. Used my freshly green-waxed A-skis.

Conditions at Baker today were marvelous! The grooming was as good as I could hope for mid December. Skate deck was a little slow between temperatures and fresh snow that had been groomed in from yesterday. The track was firm and fast. Well worth the trip.

Excellent conditions at Baker and safe to use your best skis. 18°F and calm, just perfect. I skied in the late afternoon and once the sun set I was the only one there - I used a headlamp once it got dark. Trails are well groomed with classic tracks on all trails - the best conditions in years. Lots of skiers skiing the wrong way and seemingly unaware that if the classic tracks are on your right, you're going the right direction.

Great conditions all the way around the island and lower loop. I used fastwax blue, it was a good choice. Some leaves around, but no dirt on the trail. Groomers were out around 11 am.

Primo conditions at sun up. They were out grooming at 7AM this morning freshening everything up. Watch out for a large femur bone on the downhill. The last couple of seasons I have found Baker particularly timely at grooming mid-day during and immediately after daytime snows.

Real clean and crisp-- the juice was worth the squeeze today. The groom was fresh around noon and the k's passed by like a summer day's breeze. The green LF was slippery enough to bring a chill to the nostrils. Baker is open, all of it. I have seen it, and it is pretty. Praise be.

Beautiful conditions this morning. Best I've seen in 4 years. Very few leaves. Fun to have classic skiing so early in the season.
