Trails are in great shape. Nice quick classic track and the skating lane had little traffic and was a bit slower. Very nice skiing for both.

4+ inches of fresh pow on the trails. Nice and soft, but too much for an easy skate ski. There was a skied in classic track.

The park has at least 4-6 inches of fresh snow, but none of the trails have been groomed. There was some youth event going on and they created a reasonably good classic track, but skating was unpleasant in the deep snow. It was very disappointing that as of late afternoon the park hadn’t even begun to groom the trails.

Wetland, Woodland, Prairie Overlook and Wedge Hill Savanna were in good condition. Skate deck was hard packed with isolated ice under some trees as well as limited leaf and seed litter where you would expect it. I didn't have any problem getting bite as I skated. I didn't see any classic track. It was 26 degrees and overcast. I used FastWax Red LF. Not a bad skate. Not as fast as I always dream of but still decent given the hills. Only real concern was that my fear of losing control on the hard-packed hills kept me snowplowing on all but the straightest sections.

With the recent weather, I was expecting icy conditions and that is what I found. The groomers have been doing a lot of work trying to rough up the surface. Thanks to them you can just get an edge in for skate skiing. The classic tracks looked like shimmering ice. Conditions aren’t ideal, but if you lower expectations you can get a good ski in.

With the warm temps the tracks were getting glazed and even a bit soft in spots. Leaf litter was manageable but increasing. Such a gorgeous sunrise this morning over the swamp. Good speed in the tracks this morning, my thanks go out to the groomers.

Really great conditions. Classic track newly set and skating lane freshly groomed. As good as it gets. There must be some ice crystals in the snow, had to wax softer than expected.

All regroomed, no leaves, no ice, fantastic tracks. The groomer was out and about while I classic skied midday. The conditions were top notch. My thanks to groomers.

The groomers were just finishing up by the visitors center. Talked to skiers who reported the entire system groomed. No time to ski right now but would if I could. Back tomorrow.

Bill skied very slow for skating today, it was my slowest ski I have had at Bill all year. The groomer was making multiple passes to get the trail ready for tomorrow’s race. The trail should firm up tonight if we get the predicted low temperatures. Tomorrow’s race should be the best conditions that the race has had in years. Get out and enjoy this race.
