Good news was very little rain yesterday, the great news was two inches of new snow this morning. Grooming was taking place when I got there. Conditions looked great, a bit soft yet but plenty of base. The grooming plans, according to the park, are to do the final grooming for Sunday's race Saturday evening, so any kind of below freezing night should provide great skiing.

I skied all of William OBrien Sunday afternoon and the trails were in excellent condition. Thanks to Wayne and the grooming staff for doing such a great job! Looking forward to the Marine OBrien race on Sunday.

All the trails had been groomed for skate and classic except the prairie loop for classic but I'm guessing that was tracked later as they were currently grooming the skate lane on that loop. A few leaves here and there but otherwise great conditions.

Skate skied the outer loop Monday evening. The main portion had been groomed. Lots of tree litter on trail by campground and up through the woods. Outer loops: Killer hill, south america and wedge hill are not groomed and a bit slick and rutted.

I took a lap around the outer loop as it got dark out Friday evening. I think the skate lane was recently groomed on everything except the farm loop and South America (last 2 outer loops). The snow coverage is firm and a bit thin and B skis are recommended. There are old classic tracks set on much of the flat parts and none on the hills. Certainly skiable, but temper your expectations.

The trails had been groomed for skating but the classic track was pretty much non existent. The skaters were having a great time and the conditions were excellent for skating but frustrating for classic. Only skied a few K, turned around and went back to the car.

They scratched up the surface of all the trails today including the outer loops. Skate lane only. The classic tracks exist, but are icy. The skate lane was rocket fast and the downhills got my attention. There are minimal bare spots and they are in the usual locations. This was a way better experience than I expected thanks to the grooming.
