I skied my virtual Kortelopet today. It was great hearing verbal kudos from other skiers who were participating in there virtual events. I skied classic using the outer trails which were in great shape. Coverage was good, tracks were good. My glide diminished some with the new falling snow but overall a great ski. I’d like to thank the groomers and Elm Creek for maintaining a wonderful trail system!

Nice, nice, very nice! Strode the entire outside loop and the tracks were really solid everywhere with very few washouts. Even the nature center trail was in pretty good shape, as was Northern Lights (better than usual -odd!). I saw no dirt or gravel anywhere on the system. Rex blue was kicking great and snow was about average speed (perhaps slightly slow in places). Get out there early Sunday before the Final Meltdown starts.

Beautiful day on good snow. The manmade loop was very good to excellent. The natural snow Lake and Creek trails were in good shape with well set tracks and a good deck. Northern lights was a bit more used, but still good. There is a short untracked section on the Creek bypass, but otherwise it was a near perfect day.

Eureka...there was glide and not brrrr-low zero. The manmade tracks were great and so were the tracks on the Northern Lights...a little dirt on the climb up Cowabunga. Going down Cowabunga there was someone coming up the wrong way, must've missed the Do Not Enter sign -- could be dangerous if more people were out. Swix V30 was great for kick.

Classic skied all the trails, tracks on natural snow trails were well formed but shallow. There were a few dirt spots that required leaving the tracks and of course leaves. Skate decks was firm and looked faster than I would have expected given the cold. Man made trail was perfect as usual.

I waited until it was FIS legal (-4F, -20C) to ski...didn't want to get in trouble. The manmade was solid but mostly very slow. There were a couple of faster stretches that had a little sun. Went on the Northern Lights and the wobblies are gone as it has been regroomed. A little shallow perhaps but the natural snow was a shade faster. There was only one classic track for part of the two-way trail but not much traffic out there.

5 degrees F with sun but wind in my face. Skied only Valley (man made snow). Glide was slow especially when tracks were filled in with drifted snow. Probably should not have use blue kick wax at 5 degrees. Pretty lonely out there, as most skate skiers were going on the Lake and beyond trails.

Cold, fresh snow. Used polar and swix green special for kick. Tracks good on Eagle and Monarch trails. Marginal on Northern Lights (need setting as of mid-day.) Westerly breeze was tough, but pleasant, quiet morning out of the wind.

The tracks still had slow blown in snow in exposed spots on the manmade. Very s-l-o-w snow. The Northern Lights trail still has a case of the wobblies from the skied in track through the blowing snow and it was very slow. Didn't get out to the Dark Side to see f that had been recently groomed. One skate skier was flying around and had good glide. I had Rex Blue liquid for glide and Start green with Rode Special green on top for kick. It was a workout.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle

Very firm skate deck with plenty of corduroy showing. Long stable glides were easy to come by. The cold temperatures will make this a reliable destination in the coming week.
