A nice set of trails with rolling hills. The first lighted trail system in the metro, it still attracts a lot of after-work skiers.

Fantastic conditions and grooming at French. All trails had great tracks and fresh corduroy for the skaters.

Trails were good mostly fast had a few inches of snow on top and were not groomed when I was out at about 10:30 am. It was a bit slower in the open areas faster in the trees. Classic tracks look good all over.

Pleasant classic skiing during the snowstorm! There was about an inch of fresh snow on top of the groomed skate deck, and snow was still falling at a pretty high rate. There were enough skiers to keep the classic tracks packed/open.

Wow! Best snow conditions in weeks and some of the best groomed tracks of the year. Snow was much faster then expected with wax less skis. Skied all the trails multiple times except the beginning loop east of the parking lot which was the only trail without freshly set tracks between 11 and 1 today.

There was fresh grooming when I started out this morning at French. The skate lane in the hilly areas to the west only had half a lane groomed. So, the skaters were skating into the classic tracks. Then the groomer passed again and made a full lane. The classic tracks were in pretty good shape with a little glaze in the bottom at times. Overall, a nice March ski. Thanks to the groomer!

Evening
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Beautiful evening for skiing with the falling snow and 1-2" of accumulation already. The fresh snow slowed the glide, but enough people had skied to keep the tracks open/visible. No ice or debris visible anywhere. Skate skiing would not have been good because of the accumulated snow on the skate deck. It's the first time I've had any icing/buildup on the skins of these new skin skis. Maybe because they were still wet from last night and the temperature was just below freezing. Not too bad, but I had to stop a couple times in an hour to scrape a little patch of hard snow stuck to the back end of each skin.

Groomer was out at 7:30AM when I arrived, looked to be making multiple passes to pack it down. Didn't look like they were touching classic tracks but they were largely in good shape and had fresh snow in them. Thank you groomers for getting out this morning!

Skated the Lakeview and Skyline trails late afternoon. Good condition overall although some notable slush in a couple of places; one spot covers the trail but is still skiable, the other has quite a bit of water but you can ski around it. Easily visible. Slower in open sunny areas and faster in areas with more shade, but not too bad overall.

At a minimum, good conditions for skate. Most of it was very good. I expected some areas to be washed out, but they weren't. There were some icy sections at low spots of hills, but that's about it. Classic seemed to be spotty, but viable most of the way. Hoping for more snow to give us more magic.

Skated all the trails very late afternoon at the turn toward evening. The trails were in great shape, a lot of fun, nice and fast but with plenty of edge. There were a few icy areas, especially in open areas of the Lagoon trail, but they weren't anything dangerous. Maybe more tree debris than normal but pretty avoidable. The tracks looked ok overall, although they looked very icy in some spots, and worn and/or melted down in many areas. Really great overall, I didn't want to leave.
