Notes

A nice set of trails with rolling hills. The first lighted trail system in the metro, it still attracts a lot of after-work skiers.

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
The ski trails were surprisingly good. There are a few bad spots but they are easy to avoid. There are a fair amount of leaves on the trail but these are mostly small leaves (I didn't do the lagoon trail). I would use B skis or rock skis even, especially if you go at night. The downhill on the new Medicine Trail is the only part that is a little tricky as there are a few ruts in the trail. The trail hasn't been groomed since Wednesday and as of 9 this morning the groomer was not out.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Most, Rock skis ]
All trails were packed except the Challenge Hill. No classic track set. Very soft with lots of leaf debris. Lagoon was almost not skiable in sections due to the thin snow over a thick leaf base. Exposed pavement near the playground area. There was exposed ground in several turns, particularly the tee between Lakeview and Meadow. Meadow and Medicine were actually quite good, just needed the snow to setup. Skyview was a little rough with some exposed tree roots coming out of the wetlands area. The climb out of Lakeview to the visitor's center had a lot of exposed ground at the base turn.
