Grooming Scheduling
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Tonight's grooming effort will be the last of our season since the spring freeze thaw cycle has become too much for our groomers. The Chalet will be open through Sunday, March 26th. As ski trails begin to deteriorate, snowshoe trails will remain open.

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Spring skiing officially here and Mecca didn't disappoint. Freshly groomed corduroy throughout the system. Tracks were but icy so classic might be tricky but skating was fast and fun. Big tracks (wolf?) down the middle of the inner Spruce Hills loop. Tons of snow up here and April skiing looking likely. Kuddos to the groomers here for keeping things going late into a fabulous 2022-23 ski season.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Groomer was out tonight renovating the skate lanes. Skating conditions should be very good tomorrow, with fast conditions! Tracks were left in place, rated as good with some icy sections but not bad.

This morning Mecca groomers set tracks and combed the skate lanes. The skate deck will be soft today. Grooming plans: Tomorrow morning the skate deck will be renovated and combed and should firm up nicely. Groomers will be out daily for the next few days.

The trails have been rolled, groomed, and tracks set. The recent snowfall (8"+) has softened up the trails considerably, but it is as beautiful as ever!

Tracks were set and the skate lane was groomed this morning. With the new snow, the trails are soft but will be excellent for skiing after firming up.

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
I arrived at 9:30 am to freshly groomed trails. I first skied the 15K Flowage loop. The skate deck was solid and speed was fast but not too fast. With the recent grooming, control on the downhills was decent. I finished up with the 5K Clare De Loon loop starting around 11:30 am. By that time, the skate deck was a bit softer and a bit slower. The key with warm temps is to get started as soon as possible in the morning. Kudos to Mecca for all the efforts to make the trails as enjoyable as possible.
