Notes

The trail is located about two blocks West of Hwy 169 on Bass Lake Rd. Overall this is a nice little gem. The terrain is very gentle and seems an ideal place for a family with small children or beginner skiers.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Skied both Pike lake trail and Eagle lake trails this afternoon. Freshly groomed for classic. Pike lake trail was in good shape with no leave debris and a nice track. Eagle Lake Golf Course is also freshly groomed For both classic and skate skiing. The classic track was good. The skate Lane looked good. Both were a little soft because of temperature around 32°.

Skied both Pike Lake and Eagle Lake trails after overnight snow. Skier made classic track now on both trails. Fresh snow covered leaves and debris, especially on the Pike lake trail. Good condition overall with skier made track only. Eagle lake trail includes a skate lane but it has not been groomed.

Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Skied the pike lake trail. Good coverage for his skis. New snow covered most of the leaves in the woods. Fair to good overall condition. If you icy spots. The beginning of the trail is a little thin too at the south end of the driving range and there are some places you have to go around. Very fun ski. Temperature in the middle 20s. I did not ski the eagle lake trail but it is groomed for skating and classic and looks in good shape.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Skied both Pike Lake Trail in Eagle Lake Trail late this afternoon, just before dark. Trails still have plenty of snow. The Pike Lake trail is more problematic because of leaf debris and bark debris. Eagle Lake trail was in better shape. It is also groomed for skate skiing and looks in pretty good shape for that. There is some ice, of course, after the weather we have had lately. Very enjoyable ski though.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Skied Pike Lake (classic only) and Eagle Lake Trails. There was good snow coverage, with very isolated grass poking up and icy tracks on the golf course. Tracks had been set, but were often shallow or erased, especially in the woods of the Pike Lake trail. The main issue was fallen leaves around trees, which were heavy in places.

Evening
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
I skied both the Pike lake trail and the Eagle lake trail in late afternoon, just before dusk. Not groomed after today's 2 inches of snow. The fresh snow covered up leaf debris on the Pike lake trail. Eagle lake trail is groomed for skating and there was one skate skier out today. The classic trail was covered by wind blowing snow on the Eagle Lake Trail in a few places. Overall, the extra snow helped with conditions quite a bit. No bare spots and no icy spots. Used my best skis.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Eagle Lake trail was in good condition overall for skating, very firm with a nice texture, and well groomed (I didn't ski Pike Lake trail). I'd say the condition was excellent except for the very narrow section toward the end, connecting the two open areas, which had quite a bit of oak leaf litter and some visible grass along the very edge of the trail in one location.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic Observation
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
The new snow really improved the Pike lake trail at Eagle Lake park. The new snow covered the leaf debris especially in the woods down by the lake. The beginning of the trail has drifted over by the driving range. The rest of the trail was great though. Good condition overall now. I did not make it to the Eagle Lake Trail today. With the wind and drifting it was hard to tell if it was groomed or not.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Skied Pike Lake Trail and Eagle Trail this afternoon shortly before dusk. Good snow coverage. Lots of leaves on the pike lake trail so that is why I recommended B skis. The other, and negative, consideration is there has been some walking on both trails. Never the less, very enjoyable early-season skiing. Did not see other skiers out. The eagle lake trail is groomed for skating as well. It was in good shape for that.
