Assuming you could safely navigate the initial icy patch at the base of the opening incline, The RFC offered very nice skate conditions on the Maples trail today. Just beautiful out at 9:30 am in 34 degree temps. The quarter inch of new snow from yesterday provided all the edge you needed on top of a rock solid 3-4” inch solid ice base. Carpe Skiem!

Decent skating this morning at The RFC! The groomers used the Tidd Tech to rough up the surface and provide the edge that was missing yesterday. Woods debris getting embedded into the base (reason for the B ski’s rating). Skied between 830 am (32 degrees) and 930 am (34 degrees), base holding up well. Some icy spots, but overall an enjoyable ski! Pictures taken are from the Maples Hill section. Carpe Skiem!

Groomers gave skaters one last crack at skating Birches and Maples. Moderate debris. Excellent stretches alternated with icy areas. Diagonal tracks were poor. Be cautious on any downhills.

Skated Birches and Maples between 8:30 am (33 degrees) and 930 am (36 degrees) under a sunny sky. Really fun March skiing. Base holding up well. I spoke with groomer team and they plan to Tidd Tech groom the skate lanes tomorrow morning. Carpe Skiem!

Skated Birches. Trails icy and almost polished. Difficult to obtain an edge. Tracks appeared the same. Moderate debris. Not worth my time today.

Perfect winter day at The RFC: Blue Sky, 25 degrees, light wind! Lots of happy skiers! The skate deck is in excellent condition. The classic tracks are solid, slick, and a little washed out... but, worth the effort and better than expected. Carpe Skiem!

Skated the entire system between 9 am (12 degrees) and 11 am (21 degrees) under blue sky. Beautiful in the woods today! Very fast and firm, tough to edge especially early in the morning. The hill section of the Maples is excellent. I spoke with the groomer and he plans to groom early tomorrow. Carpe Skiem!

Skated the lit trail in fast and firm conditions. Trail had been groomed earlier in the day which helped to deliver a decent edge, though it was icy in a couple areas. Overall very fun. Classic tracks cut throughout the system. Carpe Skiem!

Skated from 9-10:30 am, ungroomed and icy on the skate deck. I stayed away from hills. Sunny areas were softening up by 10:30. The system is holding up very well with a solid base throughout. Classic tracks were well set and would have been the better technique to use today given the conditions. Carpe Skiem!

Skate deck of Maples and Birches in very good condition. Refreshing corduroy would make it excellent. Minor wind-blown debris. Diagonal tracks present and appeared very good.
