The trails are okay for skating or classic. The trails have not been groomed since our most recent snow. The track is powdery and only icy in a few places with little to no tree debris.

Surprisingly awesome conditions today - still 100% coverage in the woods and on the field. Snow provided a just-right balance of ski tracking (relatively new corduroy and a dusting of snow last night) and speed (ice mixed in). The marsh extension showed increasing dirt patches and suncupping in the wide open areas; I'm guessing it will be unskiable very soon. Thanks for keeping this party going Gary!

Holding up very well for some 8PM crust. The crust layer is relatively soft and ruts very shallow, making for an enjoyable ski. Coverage on the field and wooded loop is 100%, while the marsh extension has a few dirt spots showing through (including a tire we left buried!). The trails survived until March 6th last year, I'm hopeful that some extra snow will carry us past that. If you're looking to spice your laps up, hit the jump the HS skiers built coming off the triple threat hill!

Some of the best skiing of the year at Irondale this morning. Despite the warm up yesterday followed by a cold night, the trails weren't icy at all. Plenty of soft stuff on top to get an edge. Go out and enjoy while it lasts! Classic tracks looked to be in really nice shape as well, except for up on the ball fields where snow blew into the tracks from yesterday's wind.

I live in Fridley. When there isn't enough snow I usually hit Theo Wirth and Elm Creek. However, when there is enough snow and I need to skip out of work, the Irondale Trail is a hidden gem for a few reasons. First off it's beautiful. The eastern section is technical and hilly, but the western is all flat fields. When there is enough snow, it has been groomed everyday I've been there including weekdays. Today was like skiing on butter as it was fully groomed and one other person had been on it as of 2:45pm. I hear the groomer volunteers, what kindness and selflessness! Thank you! It is much appreciated!

Fantastic skate ski this afternoon. Freshly groomed, nice even deck with a soft corduroy layer on top throughout so easy to get an edge. No icy spots or significant debris. A few small dirty patches on the two way trail and new loop but easily avoidable. Can use good skis easily especially on the older trails, excellent coverage. Lucky to have these trails - great work grooming on a thin base!

In a winter where seemingly no snowfall has exceeded a few inches, we've finally hit an adequate base depth. Or good grooming just makes it seem that way. Tracks set on the majority of the course. The fresh snow is soft, but not miserably slow where skied in. Good skis would be fine if you keep your eyes up, but a few dirt spots on the marsh extension are showing through. Thanks to the unknown hero cleaning up the riffraff in the woods.

This is a great place to ski on a windy day, mostly sheltered in the woods. Nice corduroy on the prairie loop skate deck. Classic tracks are shallow on the wooded loop, no tracks on the prairie loop. Skate deck has good coverage overall, with a few thin/dirty spots near the athletic fields. B skis recommended due some debris by the small bridge as well as scattered sticks and leaves.

This was my first time skiing at Irondale and I am very impressed with the extensive trail system and high quality grooming. Such a gem to have all those hills to train on. Thanks everyone that created such an awesome resource!
