Blue skies and 40 degrees :-) Thanks to all the great grooming this winter, there's still good snow coverage at Jackson Meadow. Skate deck was firm at first, softened in the sun. Some leaves and cones in the woods but overall excellent for spring skiing. Classic tracks still there but shallow. I imagine the snow will go fast, enjoy it while you can!

All skate trails were scratched up at night and are in great shape. Didn’t touch the classic tracks but they are still there, albeit a bit icy and leaf littered. Skating is excellent, firm and fast.

All trails are packed and tracked. All but the SW spur was groomed last night. Skate deck is firm and tracks are deep. Enjoy it before the next thaw!!

Enjoyed a beautiful ski at Jackson Meadow early afternoon. The main loop appeared groomed earlier today, didn't see any skate tracks! Such a fun trail system with lots of rolling hills and a great mix of prairie and woods. Some debris in the woods and leaves, of course, but trails skied well and speed was perfect. Tried to hit every trail segment, including double-poling some of the singletrack -- so much fun! Didn't see anyone else on the trails. One of my top ten places to ski in the Midwest.

Beautiful day at Jackson Meadow. Nearly pristine corduroy throughout. Looked like the classic tracks were present almost everywhere as well. Congrats to the groomers!

After bailing on ungroomed William O'Brien we took a chance that Jackson Meadow would be groomed already and were very pleased to find almost the entire trail system rolled. It was still soft, but much more manageable. No classic tracks set. Kudos to the groomer for getting out and getting it ready. It is going to be fantastic after a full grooming.

Beautiful sun and no wind in Jackson Meadow this morning -- the main trail not icy, except for a couple small frozen spots, but very firm with lots of frozen pebbles from the grooming after the melt and refreeze. Definitely skate-able and overall not too bad, just not great. Existing Classic tracks were still there on most of the main trail although a few stretches were not tracked. The classic tracks on the narrow side trails still looked ok with a dusting of fresh snow on top. The big hill at the south end was very fast but you could snowplow down it. I started to do the trail in the woods-gorge but decided against it as the entry was hard and frozen and figured the hills might be icy.

We are working on the trails after the thaw and refreeze created some boilerplate skiing. The skate deck is groomed and ready to go. We left most of the classic tracks, but they are icy. Hoping slightly warmer temps will make resetting the tracks a little easier.
