Pretty icy at the Highland 9 this morning. I was able to find an edge on flatter terrain, but mild downhills were hard to keep control (at least for me!). I quit after half a loop. The ski deck had good coverage, but it was difficult for me to ski on.

I was out around 1pm. The grooming was still intact for both skate and classic, but it was getting very soft! I didn't have the right wax or structure for the conditions, but my dog did most of the work anyway!

Groomed up beautifully this morning after several passes of breaking the surface ice. Magic happened. Skate deck and classic are in great condition. Best skis today. Get out and enjoy it.

It's a sunny Saturday! Good snow coverage on the course. Soft skate deck, but no icy spots. Not the fastest skiing, yet enjoyable to be out! Thanks St. Paul Parks for another few days of good skiing!

Nice to have snow and have the trail open. Very soft on the skating deck, took me about twice as long to make a loop than usual. Tracks looked great. Looking forward to it setting in the next couple of days. Should be a good week of skiing.

Groomed both classic and skate deck. Lots of snow, so pretty soft. Good skiing conditions still. Should be fun for the weekend. Enjoy.

30 degrees and sunshine here at High 9 cross country ski trail! Conditions are still great here. Both classic and skate were groomed with no ice or bare spots. Enjoy while you can!

Big thanks and kudos to the groomers for making something out of literally next to nothing. Hadn't been there in several days but reading the reports, the classic tracks had bare spots and were in bad shape yesterday. Today, everything is good--full coverage for skate and classic. Yes, the classic tracks are shallow but considering no snow for several weeks and temps in the 40s, the conditions today are a miracle. Ski while you still can!

Groomed the Highland-9 cross country ski trail today. The skate deck was very icy when we started. After several laps we were able to break through the surface and put a new classic track in. The classic track is only about an inch into the deck. Warm weather is coming, get your laps while you can. Cheers.
