Pleasant classic ski at Highland today. Tracks have been set and are generally shallow. Coverage is good about 75% of the time, with mostly grass in the other areas. Easy to avoid these areas by hopping onto the skate deck. Skate deck looked firm but good, with a few dirt areas that are easy to avoid. I’d say conditions are fair for classic and good for skate.

Groomers improved Highland 9 hole course from yesterday's boilerplate unskiable to very good conditions. Classic track is very good with some grass showing spots. Skate looked great also. Thanks groomers!

The Highland -9 cross country trail was groomed for the first time this year this afternoon. A classic track was set and the trail is in great condition. Enjoy!

Ok, so skiing with 30 mph / - 25 deg wind chill in essentially an open field was maybe not my best idea ever, but I wanted to note that the coverage is shockingly good - there were only a few short patches with grass poking through, and probably 95% of the trail would rate good. Given how variable conditions at Highland can be in low snow years I was really impressed!

Surprisingly slow snow tonight at 8:15, around 8 degrees, Rex blue liquid glide wax. The snow seems really dry and slow, probably from last night's -17. Or maybe it was all that pizza I ate right before. Not much kick from Rex green either. Skier made classic tracks only, which are of course intermittent and shallow. Trail is mostly hard packed with some rutting, plus some areas drifted and loose and others icy. A couple small avoidable thin spots. A good challenge in the dark, for sure. But not too dark to see it was just me and a coyote out there.

The trail was rolled/packed this morning. The new snow was blown around so it was very inconsistent with snow depth. The trail is thin and icy in spots but skiable. There is still not enough of a base to set classic tracks. Enjoy!

Hard pack yet not icy on the skate area - I skied skate. Classic track looked good in most areas. Good snow coverage on the trail.

Good conditions. Looks like it was groomed yesterday. Very skiable, coverage is good for the most part. Some sticks and branches that are avoidable. Skier made tracks. Nice to see lots of people out enjoying the trail!

Good enough for a beginner like me. Looked to be groomed only for skaters but classic tracks made by skiers. Cold at first but warmed up pretty quickly.
