Notes

Trails are on the golf course. Some nice hills but most of the course is pretty exposed. There is one back leg that is quite shaded and seems to hold snow long after the rest of the course loses it. Rentals at the chalet.

Evening
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
If you're skate skiing, you should be fine. Trail had good coverage with just a few parts where grass was popping up. Not good for classic - - the tracks were basically non existent.

The trail at Como golf course was rolled/packed this morning. There is a loose base that should only get better as it sets up. Enjoy!

Evening
Firsthand: Classic
[ B skis ]
Como Park had not been groomed by 5:30 pm this evening though the Piston bully was out grooming the alpine ski hill, where they’re making snow. Skiers have made a nice track around the golf course for classic skiing but without grooming one plods along, though pleasantly in the evening quiet. Not sure the snow is deep enough to set a really good track with the groomer. Grass and gravel poking through just under the surface in many areas.

Unfortunately we are closing the cross-country ski trail until we get more snow. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Skied this morning and skate deck is firm yet but choppy. Coverage is still great, save for a few bare spots to watch out for. Classic tracks look intermittent.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Both
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Skied around noon. The course had not been regroomed since yesterday's heavy use and thus the skate deck was too choppy for a B skier like myself to skate with confidence. After one lap skating I switched to classic, which was much better. The classic track was mostly good, but by 2 p.m. was starting to break down.

Great snow coverage for Como. Lots of skied in tracks and skating lane. Busy before noon then it lightened up.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Both
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Full 5K trail rolled and groomed, soft deck making it difficult to glide while skating but great coverage. Slippery snow, bright sun, no wind, no crowds. Rails laid for classic but they were soft yet navigable. A perfect winter day that even folks in Boulder or Zermatt would envy.

At 3:30 this afternoon it looked like Como had gotten plenty of snow, it had been rolled and tracked and that plenty of people had enjoyed it. No bare spots but it showed lots of use. Beautiful day to be out! Lots of happy people there.

Como golf course cross-country trails were packed/rolled this morning. There is a this base but very skiable. The trail base is very thin under the bridge. Enjoy!
