We skied over from Nicolet Trails. Did Butternut, Lake Loop, East Trail and Ninemile down. All trails had been previously skied but the track was a few days old. Well worth the ski.

Several new inches of new dry snow over freshly groomed ski trails can be pure joy. Unfortunately, that was not the case at Anvil today. Yes, it was evident the trail was groomed yesterday; the deck and tracks were left in fairly good shape and the new snow was nicely skier tracked for part of the trail. I do not recommend skiing there any time soon, though. There was a horde of walkers on the trail today, pocking the deck and the tracks. It made for a disappointing end to my ski experience. It is unfortunate that they do not restrict walkers on groomed ski trails in the winter. Ugh...

I got really turned off when I got to the parking lot and instead of seeing tracks there were lots of footprints and two guys walking right down the middle of the trail towards me. Got back in my car and drove to Nicolet North. Skied back via the connector and discovered most foot traffic was confined to near parking areas. So the skiing turned out pretty good.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Anvil was rolled, groomed and tracks were set after a 12+ inch snowfall yesterday. The dry fluffy snow made a softer base. Low temperatures should firm it up. The trail is back to beautiful skiing condition.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Anvil was groomed and tracks were set today. Above freezing temps over the past few days have caused some icier conditions. Recent winds have blown small debris into the trail in many areas.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
All of Anvil was groomed and tracked on Monday. Most of Ninemile trail was groomed and tracked Tuesday morning. There was a light snowfall on Monday night so the trail has a thin layer of fresh snow on top. Windy conditions have blown a fair amount of debris onto the trail.

Trails had some debris, B skis. These trails are really too narrow to be considered skating trails. Beautiful terrain with close intimate trails which is more suitable for classic skiing.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All loops at Anvil were groomed. An inch or two of fresh snow refreshed the trail. Cold temperatures in the evening should set the deck nicely. Tracks were not set. Unfortunately, there was a mechanical issue with the track setter. We plan to groom and set track on Monday after repairing the track setter.

A great ski at Anvil this morning. Some soft surface on Nine Mile Trail and Lake Loop where there had been less traffic on the weekend. Nice deep tracks everywhere.
