We received another 4 - 6 inches of blowing snow overnight and into the morning. Crasher and Snocross groomed up all of the combi trails with the Bullies. Wide Track and Partner set new track on all of the classic onlys. Ridge Runner is groomed for Classic skiing.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Woke up to another 4-5 inches of snow this morning. A four-person groom team attacked early this morning, and we had all 92k groomed up by 10:00 am. Grooming plans: We are continuing to groom Ridge Runner as classic only/good line for the next several days. Groomers will be back out in the morning. Skate decks are firm, not hard, and classic tracks have been fresh and firm. The warming shelters are stocked with wood and starter packages, which are nice when you head south to the more remote areas and it is cold.

Fresh grooming this morning made for some great skiing! Skate deck and classic tracks were all perfect as usual. I got in 33k and managed to stay pretty warm in the woods - thanks for all the great work groomers!

Silky smooth skate this morning - really awesome conditions with fresh grooming and a little snow on top to make the downhills nice and easy. Thanks for the great grooming!

The snow continues. We had a team of three groomers out this morning 6-10 am, and it continued to snow. Skiers at 9-11 am found fresh tracks and corduroy on 84 km. Those arriving later found powder on top of the grooming. The woods are a winter wonderland. Grooming plans: A team of five groomers out in the early morning. We have the famous Ridge Runner scheduled for PistenBully grooming again, followed by Snow Cross setting best line classic with the snowmobile! I definitely suggest checking this intermediate, world-class designed trail. Saturday is classic only for the Ridge Runner. Suffolk Eatery lunch delivery was cancelled due to weather.

Skate skiing does not get much better than what we had at ABR this weekend. SISU race on Saturday and a nice easy 15K recovery ski today on freshly groomed trails, temps in low 20s, snow on the pines, really ideal. ABR does it right - they can't control how much it snows, but if there's snow, they sure know how to treat it! Locals said there have really only been two big snows, but they were big snows and so the base is very solid and we could feel that. Hopefully will be a nice, long ski season in Ironwood this year! They deserve it after 2 tough years.

After a great SISU Saturday,...groomers were back out this morning. We set 82 km of new classic track and powertilled 65 k of combi trails, we didn't cross any roads on the 3 trails historic, puumala or dog friendly with the groomers today. Skiing was reported to be very good...lots of smiling faces.

Lots of skiers enjoying the day after the race. The race courses were freshly regroomed and some single track skied in after recent light snow.

Excellent conditions at ABR. The warmup and rain from yesterday, fortunately, had minimal effect on ABR trails. It appears that about 1-2 inches of fresh snow fell last night coupled with 29 degree temperatures today made for fast conditions today. Tracks were deep and flat with a thin layer of powder snow to allow for a great kick. Lots of fun!
