My first visit to this trail system - very impressive course for both skate and classic! Excellent conditions this morning on the outer 14k loop, with lightning fast classic tracks and mostly clean skate deck (95% clean snow, with a bit of forest debris). Race skis no problem. The course flows really well and you can trust the tracks for sure.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The trail recieved 2" of fresh snow last night. Groomed and re-tracked the entire trail system. Everything seemed to groom up nicely, despite the warmer temps of the late morning! The wetter snow did bring down some debris on the trail. But overall, it's looking beautiful out there! Congratulations to the lady who completed her Virtual Birkie at Mukwonago today!

First time at Mukwonago and it is a very nice trail system. We arrived late morning and the grooming was just getting finished from the overnight 2+” snowfall. Tracks were set very well and the rolling terrain was fun, and with the new snow and sunny blue skies, it was incredibly beautiful. Saw only a couple skiers, one doing the virtual Birkie! It got a bit soft as the temps went above freezing.

Very nice skiing conditions this morning. Kudos to Katie the groomer! My pal Andy B. and I skied the long loop out to Bulldog Springs enjoying the sun, scenery and freshly-groomed rolling trail. Classic tracks were firm and nicely set out from the edge enough. The tracks were a little shallow, but this is probably due to the difficulty of grooming the new snow into the cold, hard base underneath. The skate deck was level and solid. The downhills were not treacherous. The snow was getting a little sticky as we finished with the temperature rising to about 40F.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Mukwonago received about 2 inches of wet snow. I went out early this morning and got it groomed in and set new tracks. It is still pretty soft, and will be until we get colder temps. Grooming plans for the week are to groom again when temps are below freezing. It's a winter wonderland out there, and would be a great virtual Birkie ski course! There is also a new snowshoe trail that is separate from the ski trail, if you are looking to get a hike in also! Happy Birkie week!

The classic skiing out at the Mukwonago Trails east of Hayward was very good today and the tracks are in really good shape. There are some occasional oak leaves that will slow you down now and then. The skate lane had plenty of coverage, it was level, and had about an inch of new snow since it had been groomed last.

Mukwonago received about 5 inches of snow yesterday! All loops were rolled yesterday, and groomed today! Special thanks to Bruce for braving the cold and grooming today! Trail is in excellent condition. Stay warm and safe if you venture out! Mukwonago is a classic and skate skiing trail system. There is a new snowshoe trail to explore there also! Enjoy!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Groomed this morning and worked in the 1" of new snow that we received on Saturday night. Trail is looking good, especially in the hardwood sections. We need a good dumping one of these days, these 1"-2" inch snows just aren't doing it! We are still hitting dirt in the pine areas, so I still have the B ski recommendation. Come out and enjoy this beautiful rolling trail.

Didn't seem like they got quite as much snow as the Blue Hills but the groomer did a great job with the snow they did get. Only a couple dirty spots further back on the 13k trail. Had a great day skiing. Skate trail looks good as well just awaiting someone to ski it. Of all the trails in NW Wisconsin I think this is one of my favorites. Rolling topography gives great variety and the trail runs through multiple forest cover types that vary throughout its length. Add in the occasional pothole lake or bog and the erratic's and there is plenty to keep your interest. I especially enjoy the large white pine in the stands along the 13k loop. One stand on the back side of that loop has a lot of balsam as well and, with the snow just hanging in the trees, it's darn near magical.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Thanks to the efforts of our volunteer groomer Bruce, Mukwonago was groomed today! 3-4 inches of new snow was worked into the trail. Everything is looking very good. The tracks and deck should set up great for the rest of the week. The big race is rapidly approaching, come on out and get a few k's in your National Forest.
