2021-2022 season

Birches skate deck had a light comb this morning (Maples not viewed today). This afforded some control on an otherwise hard and polished surface. Occasional tree debris present. The trail is level and wide. Uphill sections of Per's loop show traces of sand, but the spots are avoidable. Classic tracks appeared moderate depth with some oak leaves present.

15 degrees, sunny, beautiful! The Skate deck was groomed this morning creating excellent conditions. Classic tracks are well worn, but worth the effort. The best classic skiing segments are the loops off the back end of the Oaks Trail (pictures are from that area). Carpe Skiem!

The RFC was freshly groomed for skate earlier today resulting in terrific conditions. The classic tracks are serviceable: shallow with occasional wind debris. You can skate with your best skis, but striders will encounter debris in tracks. All in all, the network is in surprisingly good condition! Carpe Skiem!

Strided all interior segments and the back half of the Oaks Trail, including the biathlon loop, under a clear blue sky in 14 degree temps. Tracks were better than you would expect ranging from 20-50% depth. Skate deck is in excellent shape. Very enjoyable. Carpe Skiem!

Skated Birches and Maples, as well as a couple connector trails. Things are mostly holding up quite nicely, and the repeat grooming has helped keep things fairly quick and smooth. There were a few spots on the open straightaways of Maples, along the road, that were a little soft due to sun exposure, but otherwise nicely packed throughout. Some expected debris across all of the deeper-woods areas to the north and west, and a little thin in places on the well-skied lighted areas, but colder temps should assist in maintaining the base. Always worth the visit!

Fresh grooming on the skate trails produced a noticeable improvement. The adjacent classic tracks have moderate depth and some debris. A nice day at the Camp today.

Skate trails revealed much weekend traffic. Corduroy essentially gone. Uphills of Per’s loop show traces of sand. Mild tree litter throughout. However, trails were still fast. Classic tracks are present and beginning to erode and accumulate oak leaves.

Fresh grooming this morning. Uphills on Per's loop are fair and starting to get a little worn. Classic tracks appeared adequate and were not glazed, but accumulating oak leaves. Conditions are good throughout the skating lanes, with a level deck and good pole plants. The groomers are being diligent with the available snow.
