2020-2021 season

Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The classic track set yesterday remains solid and fast today. Not much debris has settled in the track except for a few areas with scattered tree bark from dying ash trees. Try to avoid these areas as the bark is very sticky even using hard green kick wax. The skate deck is also very firm now. All trails were groomed and tracked yesterday. Cold conditions have resulted in light traffic on all loops since yesterday.

10:30 am and 1 degree. Skied parts of the red, green, and purple trails. We were first through on freshly groomed and tracked trails. Great skiing. Thanks to the groomers.

Greenbush received another 4"of wet heavy snow yesterday afternoon and evening. With a lot of time and effort Jeff has the entire system packed, groomed, and tracked. It was a great day in the classic track. With the high winds the few remaining leaves on the trees have settled in the track so use hard kick wax like Toko mint green (not made anymore) to keep the leaves and bark from sticking to your wax pocket.

The Skeezers skied parts of the red, green, and purple trails. Everything freshly groomed and tracked. Snow was a little slow and soft, but it should set up nicely. Thanks to the groomer!

The best ski I had all year. The grooming was very good. The only thing I missed was the shack was not open but such is life in the fast lane. By the time I left the weather was getting to warm but this weekend will take care of that. Happy skiing.

Outstanding conditions- about as good as it gets in SE Wisconsin. Skied all loops, trails had seen quite a few skiers today but still had a nice texture on top. Brown/Red/Green were best due to a little less traffic than the purple loop. Thank You groomers!

The complete trail system other than the black trail has been freshly groomed and tracked. The black trail was groomed Sunday. Jeff also fixed the broken equipment.

Classic skied purple loop--good ground cover with no bare spots. Tracks a bit worn down in spots. Overall very good. Warmed up quite a bit later in day and snow sugary on hills especially.

Evening
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Good skis ]
Skied the Green and Pink just before sunset. Only saw two other skiers. Both were well groomed and firm enough in the middle to stay on top of your glide, albeit soft enough to make hard work of the hills. The sides of the skate deck are loose and slow. No tracks set yet. Carpe Skiem!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All trails and cutoffs were groomed with two passes. I had planned to set track on the second pass however there were electrical problems with our equipment and I was not able to engage the track setter. Never the less, with the amount of heavy snow we received yesterday (10"), the trails needed two passes today. Regrettably I had to sacrifice the track. Apologies to classic skiers, I had hoped to ski classic myself today after grooming. Despair not, with more snow and cold temperatures in the days and weeks ahead classic will be the technique of choice. The electrical problem was minor and plan to set track tomorrow.
